Release date?

[edit]

According to Kinema Junpo (http://www.kinejun.jp/cinema/id/36783) it was filmed in 1999 and released in 2005. Apparently it was shown around before 2005, at Cannes and Chicago in 2000 (where it won the FIPRESCI Prize according to IMDB - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0263790/awards)... An October 2005 release would have been after the death of the star, Yumika Hayashi, in June 2005. Her last film was released with some ceremony in September '05 (http://www.cinematopics.com/cinema/c_report/index3.php?number=1588)... Dekkappai (talk) 19:59, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Probably screened at festivals and then given a comercial wider release later, although 5 years later seems excesive! Lugnuts (talk) 20:16, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I'm wondering what the story behind the delay was... Possibly had to do with a memorial after the death of the star-- as with the other film... The story behind the delayed public release, if we find it, would be something to put in the article anyway. Dekkappai (talk) 20:19, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
