Old talk

[edit]

I'll see if the wife want's to post one of her pictures of the "Ice Palace". May take a few days. I liked Noyabrsk ; but I'm unlikely to ever go back.

Sounds good, please feel free to upload it to Wikimedia Commons and license it under the GFDL. Thanks for your interest :) - FrancisTyers 03:28, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Checked with Her Ladyship - not her pictures, and she's not sure if they're of Noyabrsk or of Nizhnevartovsk, or another town in the area. Have to pass on that one, I'm afraid.

Nice article

[edit]

I've been going through the Russian city articles adding airport articles, and this is a nice one. I enjoyed the high-res photos. -Timvasquez 20:13, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Population

[edit]

Currently the articles says the city has a population of 96,440, but this Russia Profile article says about 110,000. Should we update the number based on this source? Offliner (talk) 00:17, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A prudent thing to do would be to report both the population reported by the most recent Census (which is 96,440) and the most recent estimate (which seems to be 110,000). This way we'll have both a number that one can confidently use to get an idea of overall population rankings (Census) and one that's most recent. There are two different fields in the infobox to accommodate such an approach.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 14:22, December 31, 2009 (UTC)

"Headquarters" vs "production"

[edit]

Are the production fields of the two Gazprom subsidiaries located within the territory of the city? Here is a map of the gas fields: [1]. This is important because I don't know whether I should say the companies "have their production facilities located in the city" or just "have their headquarters located in the city." Obviously, much of the production is located near the city, so I think it is correct to say that Noyabrsk is the location of both headquarters and production? This is an interesting question for other city articles as well. Offliner (talk) 01:30, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Picture

[edit]

I can add a lower res pic of the town from the air if it would contribute something.83.250.244.121 (talk) 12:28, 31 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
