13th song[edit]

Do we know what the 13th song is? So far we just have 12 of the songs listed.

  • Does anyone know if their cut Awakening will make the album?
    • I'm looking at you T-rex! ;-) (Dude, we should totally collaborate more on music articles!)
I'm guessing that it's titled "Sound of my Mouth" don't have any solid sources on that though... I'm know for sure that awakening will be on there, as apparentlly thats Steve Lillywhite's only contribution to the album --T-rex 19:08, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • A few websites such as here and here list "C'mon C'mon" as track 5, but I don't think it can be confirmed yet. Purple Sheep 11:13, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
convinces me. The band has since stated the "sound of my mouth" will not be on the album, and i like this c'mon c'mon song anyhow... --T-rex 15:26, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • It is a remix of a song on Nothing is sound called "The Shadow Proves the Sunshine."

with a dot[edit]

its 'Oh! Gravity.' with a dot.. can someone make that change to the article, and make "Oh! Gravity" a redirect? I dont know how to do that. -.phil. 00:30, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

so it is... I reverted an edit to that effect earlier, but I guess I shouldn't have. I can move, the page to Oh! Gravity. but I wouldn't be able to move it back, so I want to first check to see if you are absolutly sure that this is correct --T-rex 01:16, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
looks like someone else has already taken care of this --T-rex 23:21, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
cool thanks. -.phil. 07:50, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
don't thank me, User:Andrewduffell is the one who took care of this for you... --T-rex 16:53, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cover Art[edit]

I have added the album's cover art, but have noticed that the band is apparently releasing the art in stages on their website. I do not think that the posting of the image here violates fair use, even in that context, but if there is opposition to placing the cover art here in this situation, a future edit may be in order.

I agree it doesn't violate fair use, but I don't support posting the cover art yet, out of respect for the artist's intentions. once at least half of the art is revealed on switchfoot.com, maybe we can put the whole thing on here. thats just my opinion. -.phil. 07:52, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I put up the cover, and you took it down, like I said on my talk page I see why, and I'm not going to fight it. I still don't think that it hurts anything by having it up, but I anticipate that people are going to continue posting it, as for me I think I'm going to leave it to you to put up... It doesn't appear that either of the images uploaded have been deleted yet, but they mey be, and it's no big deal if we have to re-upload it... --T-rex 16:47, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, k, I wanted to say this this before but if somebody else (besides anonymous users) still thinks putting up the cover is a good idea, go for it, I won't fight it. -.phil. 03:20, 15 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I like your idea of waiting until half the art is posted on the band website. It's a happy medium. I'l wait on it. -Sean Christopher 07:46, 15 September 2006 (PDT)
I think we could have the cover up now...its out at quite a few places by now. -.phil. 03:20, 28 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is Jon Foreman, I'd appreciate it if you would ASK to use our cover art on this site. Right now what you are doing is stealing cover art and i believe stealing is ILLEGAL!! So please take off the cover art or ask the label to use it.

Sorry Jon, but the copyright to the album art belongs to Josh Levy, not you. Sorry, but this is covered under fair use anyhow --T-rex 22:23, 14 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hahahaha.. "Jon". nice try. -.phil. 22:38, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I own the CD now[edit]

Do we remove the thing about future albums since others most likly got it too?--User:NFAN3|NFAN3 02:28, 24 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, we don't. The album doesn't release until Tuesday, so the notice isn't removed until then... --T-rex 00:34, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm listening to it right now. My point is me and other die hard fans have it--User:NFAN3|NFAN3 03:07, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, NFAN3, don't state other 'die hard fans' have it. Not all 'die hard fans' have it because i don't. I'm not going to download it illegally, or i don't work for a Christian book store and didn't get it early. I know some of the preorders may have gone through. This album is in accordance with Wikipedia guidelines and will be a future album until the date of release.  :) I seriously can't wait to grab the album though. On to other things, i see we edit the same articles, thanks for helping out with those articles.--DJREJECTED 03:15, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't download it. I got in the mail early 'cause I pre-ordered it
And I've had it for almost two weeks, despite the point that some people have it, doesn't mean that it is released --T-rex 18:31, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Download?[edit]

What song is this Download song? (Revenge)

PLEASE do not post links to this song. It's not supposed to be available for public download...

No one has said anything about posting a link... --T-rex 02:48, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh! Gravity.[edit]

Does anybody know any of the charting postitions of the new single Oh! Gravity.?

Hasn't charted on the hot 100 chart at all so far, #40 on the modern rock chart --T-rex 02:48, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Chart Positions[edit]

I changed the billboard position of the album to #41, that's what the current chart says. If that was supposed to be peak position, change it back. How often should that position be updated? --Listen and Speak 05:30 15 January 2007 (UTC)

Removal of non-spam reviews labelled as such?[edit]

In edits such as this one, several users have added the Jesus Freak Hideout review of the album. (I, for the record, have not.) These edits have subsequently been reverted as spam. Why? Jesus Freak Hideout is one of the the three major Christian music-reviewing media entities (along with Christian Music Today and Cross Rhythms). I see no reason why its review of the album should be removed as spam, and I intend to add the reviews from all three sites. However, I am checking here first before I include said reviews, in case someone wishes to raise an objection. --3M163//Complete Geek 02:52, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Switchfootohep.jpg[edit]

Image:Switchfootohep.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Requested move[edit]

The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: page moved. In ictu oculi (talk) 10:31, 21 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Oh! Gravity. (album)Oh! Gravity. – The album Oh! Gravity. is a primary topic, and the article was originally created under that title and steadily placed there for almost eight years now, until earlier today In ictu oculi moved the page without any reason. The WP:DABSONG guidelines clearly state that disambiguation should be used when necessary, and so in this case a simple hatnote directing users to Oh! Gravity. (song) and Oh! Gravity. Tour (both topics of secondary importance) would be enough. Instead, we have Oh! Gravity. page redirecting to Oh! Gravity. (album). I propose that the page should be moved back, and "Oh! Gravity. (album)" can be left as a redirect. — Mayast (talk) 20:56, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah that's fine, I've put in a technical request. Btw. there was no hatnote until I added it. In ictu oculi (talk) 22:22, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Mayast (talk) 22:33, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
As for the hatnote, there should have been, so it's a good thing that you added it. Mayast (talk) 23:24, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
