The result of the move request was: no consensus—while both names appear to be accurate, there seems to be an unchallenged claim here that the current title is the common name. ErikHaugen (talk | contribs) 05:50, 16 July 2012 (UTC)
Being an inhabitant of Oslo since birth I think the name Gamlebyen doesn't simply translate this way. I think it should retain its Norwegian name. __meco (talk) 17:52, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose – perhaps it's not a "translation", but hundreds of English-language books associate the English term "Old Town" with the Norwegian name Gamlebyan. I'd fix the tangled web of redirects, though. Dicklyon (talk) 18:39, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
- Weak Support. A quick google search shows the terms are analagous [[1]] [[2]] [[3]] but sometimes as Old Town (Gamlebyen), sometime vice versa. Zarcadia (talk) 18:45, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
- Comment. In the event of a move, should Gamlebyen be disambiguated, since the Gamlebyen in Fredrikstad also is quite well-known? Geschichte (talk) 08:40, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- The Bokmål Wikipedia has Gamlebyen (Fredrikstad), Gamlebyen (Oslo), with Gamlebyen being a disambiguation page. __meco (talk) 12:48, 10 July 2012 (UTC)

Writing style could use minor clean-up
[edit]The text has some minor "awkwardnesses" and grammatical errors; perhaps parts were written by non-native, although quite fluent, writers of English. Acwilson9 (talk) 03:51, 5 May 2018 (UTC)
