CECILY

[edit]

I've read it as Cecily, Cecilie and Cecilia, but it's English Wikipedia and Cecily is English version of the name (like Nicholas to Nikolaus or Nikolaj or Nikolai, so should it not be the is the anglicized version? Cladeal832 (talk) 23:56, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

See my comments here: WT:NC(NT)#Russian grand duchesses naming convention. In short, there are many forms of names which are now considered English. Charles 00:10, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Olga Feodorovna of BadenPrincess Cecilie of Baden – First I would like to point out that the current title of the article is incorrect as it's a combination of her maiden name and her subsequent name and title. She was born Princess Cecilie of Baden (or Cäcilie in German) and upon marrying Grand Duke Michael and her conversion to Eastern Orthodox Church she received the name and title of Grand Duchess Olga Feodorovna of Russia. As some users my already be aware, in Wikipedia we use the maiden name as the principal title of the article for princesses/duchesses who have been married to royal princes/dukes (examples include Princess Alexandrine of Baden, Princess Alexandra of Saxe-Altenburg, Princess Alice of the United Kingdom, Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark, etc); thus the article needs to be renamed and the original name has to be restored as previously it was moved without any discussion in the first place.
