Nomination for Chief Justice of the SCOTUS

According to a notice in the New York Tribune (near the bottom of the far right column), Jacobs was nominated to be Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court on March 2, 1874.[1] What happened? -Ad Orientem (talk) 03:29, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
