Unreliable cited material & removal of maint tags
[edit]I reverted restoration of unreliably cited material in violation of WP:BURDEN; Aces of the Luftwaffe web site is not a reliable source. I'm preserving this material by providing this link.
Separately, maintenance tags were inappropriately removed. Please do not remove them w/o addressing the issues. K.e.coffman (talk) 00:09, 13 March 2017 (UTC)
- Please see: Wikipedia:Verifiability#Responsibility_for_providing_citations: "Any material lacking a reliable source directly supporting it may be removed and should not be restored without an inline citation to a reliable source. (emphasis mine). K.e.coffman (talk) 02:56, 14 March 2017 (UTC)
- I've reverted the restoration of material in violation of WP:BURDEN. Six weeks is sufficient time. Reliable secondary sources for this information are unlikely to exist. K.e.coffman (talk) 02:38, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
Unsourced material / OR / POV
[edit]I further removed unsourced material; such level of detail is unlikely to be available in secondary RS for a jr level commander. In addition, the prose reads as OR and is highly POV at times, resemling fan fiction. For example:
- "There was no shortage of opportunities though, as the Russians flew desperate missions ..."
- "After sporadic victories in June and July, he scored a dozen in August..."
- "Another period of leave followed from September (perhaps due to injury?)..."
- "...they spend 1943 hopping across the Mediterranean..."
- "With its back to the wall there was now little of consequence that his Gruppe could do..."
In any case, I'm preserving this material here by proving this link. K.e.coffman (talk) 22:59, 18 March 2017 (UTC)
Notability
[edit]Does not meet WP:SOLDIER & sig RS coverage not found link, just passing mentions and / or non RS militaria literature.
No de.wiki article exists. Did not hold a significant command and topped out as Oberstleuntnant. Successful completion of missions (sorties flown, # of enemy aircraft shot down, etc) is not part of SOLDIER. A MilHist RfC on this topic has failed to gain consensus in May of 2017:
Please also see a note at MilHist Talk Archives for background behind the redirect. In summary, per the outcome of the discussion at Notability:People on notability of Knight's Cross recipients: permalink, certain recipients were deemed non notable and WP:SOLDIER has been modified accordingly: diff. The articles of these recipients are being redirected to alphabetical lists. K.e.coffman (talk) 01:24, 6 September 2017 (UTC)
