It seems to me that it was Evangelista Torricelli who disproved horror vacui a few years earlier with his mercury barometer. Von Guericke just invented the air pump and ran popular demonstrations.--Yannick 23:07, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

What demonstration of electrostatic repulsion[edit]

Should the biography be split up into subsections so that readers can find the information they are looking for more quickly? Also, which of the sources is the biographical information coming from?
