Band members[edit]

There are three people listed as band members at palayeroyale.com/bio/. Of course, bands are constantly evolving with current members leaving and new members joining; however, any changes in the bands lineup need to be supported by citations to either the band's official website or some other independent reliable source. The changes should be official changes, not something like "I joined the band for a day" posted on somebody's YouTube channel per WP:UGC, WP:BLPSPS and WP:BLPSELFPUB. Bands also often have session players or musicians who travel with them on tour, but these also need to be supported by citations to reliable sources. Hppping from one IP address to another or creating WP:SPA to try and add a kazoo player as a band member is never going to be accepted. Provide a citation to some reliable source which clearly shows that a kazoo player has been offcially added to the band, then perhaps the information can be added. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:52, 27 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism[edit]

As previously stated, there has been persistent vandalism of this page adding a supposed kazoo player that simply made a video with the band. This page was previously semi-protected for this exact reason and I believe it may need to be again, because of the events of today from many different IPs and accounts. An SPI is probably not needed since it seems obvious what is going on. Actually, the more accounts this person (these persons?) create, the easier it is to establish a pattern and the easier it will be to have the page long-term protected. Multiple people are watching the article now, so it's basically turning into a game of "whack the mole". Just keep civil, keep reverting per WP:R VAN and keep pointing them to the talk page. Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Wikipedia needs an independent reliable source which clearly shows that Gioia is now a member of the band. If you can provide a link to such a such then perhaps it can be added. FWIW, the band's official website does not list him as a member and linking to Gioia's YouTube page is not sufficient per WP:BLPSPS. Wikipedia needs something such as a major magazine, newspaper, etc. sufficiently independent of the band to verify such a claim. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:16, 18 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Answie: A couple of things about your requests.

Please don't make multiple repetitive requests for the same changes. It may take time for editors watching the article or helping out with edit request to notice yours, and bascially adding the same request again is not going to speed up the process. People sometimes get WP:BUSY, so you need to be patient and not expect instantaneous responses. Moreover, you should only make a request when you need to. The article is only semi-protected, and anyone whose account has been autoconfirmed can edit the article. Why it's good to be WP:CAUTIOUS sometimes when you're proposing a major addition/revision of the article, it's also OK to be WP:BOLD. If you make an edit that is then subsequently reverted, just follow WP:DR and engage in discussion.
Please add your signature to the end of your posts. If you're not sure how to do this, please look at WP:SIGN
Please don't add any more unsourced content to the article. The "History" section is already not supported by any citations to reliable sources and has been tagged as such. Adding more unsourced content, even if it's true, only further exacerbates the problem and increases the chance that the entirely section will be removed by someone per WP:UNSOURCED and WP:BLPSOURCES. It is the responsibility of those wanting to add content to articles to provide citations to reliable sources in support for verification purposes. The is one of the basics of Wikipedia editing as explained in WP:5P2.

Origins[edit]

There have been different fights over whether the band is American or Canadian. The band themselves have stated many times that they are not a Canadian band. Their website takes facts from other news resources such as Alternative Press and Rock Sound, who have taken much of their resources from false facts found on the internet and generated by people who have claimed they’re all from Canada. In fact, only one of the members was born in Canada but moved to the USA after his birth. They started their band in Las Vegas and they are an American band. I would like to settle the claims once and for all and would like them to be labeled as an American band. If anyone would like, I can link resources where they have said they are not Canadian. Articles for band members?[edit]

Has anyone considered making individual articles for at least the main band members. Is that something that's hard to do? I've done very little editing on Wikipedia but I would be willing to help with it if anyone wanted. Leeli083 (talk) 03:07, 14 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Leeli083. I, personally, have considered to make an article about the frontman of Palaye, Remington Leith. However, you should consider the fact that when you create an article it may take some time, for creation and approval, but, it is also hard to find reliable sources to support the article. I haven't found any yet but if you have, it would be great to leave them in my talk page so I can start writing the article. fenia🖤^tellmehi 10:28, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
