Hello, I think this page could use a little bit more information for "disadvantages" and "advantages" to compare the effects of parentification on later life. Hfrueh (talk) 02:27, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
Blacklisted Links Found on Parentification
[edit]Cyberbot II has detected links on Parentification which have been added to the blacklist, either globally or locally. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed or are highly inappropriate for Wikipedia. Adolescents
[edit]Arllaw, based on resources such as this[1] Hooper one, do you think we should change "whereby a child" to "whereby a child (usually an adolescent)"? GBFEE (talk) 22:59, 19 June 2022 (UTC)
- I suspect that the intent was to use "child" in the sense of "parent and child". Briefly looking at the literature, I don't think that we should say "usually an adolescent", but I do agree that clarification is appropriate. Please review the change I made. Thanks. Arllaw (talk) 00:18, 20 June 2022 (UTC)
- The reason I asked about using "usually an adolescent" is because the resources on this topic tend to focus on elder children and those elder children, as discussed in the resources, tend to be adolescents. The Hooper resource starts off defining parentification with the words "in which adolescents", but this could be because the book is about adolescents. And its first paragraph on page 2025 does say "parentified child or adolescent". Your choice of "child or adolescent"[2] works. Thank you. GBFEE (talk) 21:30, 20 June 2022 (UTC)
