  • ... that Paul Wood started a PhD while doing a prison sentence for murder, being the first person in New Zealand to get an undergraduate degree, complete a masters degree, and start a doctorate in prison? Source: "He was the first person in New Zealand history to get an undergrad and then masters degree in prison - the first to begin a doctorate while behind bars." link
    • ALT1:... that Paul Wood started a PhD in psychology while in prison for murder, being the first person in New Zealand to get an undergraduate degree, complete a masters, and start a PhD in prison?? Source: same as above

General: Article is new enough and long enough

Policy compliance:

Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
QPQ: None required.

Overall: The article is new enough and just long enough to make the cut, but it has significant issues. A decent amount of the brief text is directly copied from other articles, making it ineligible for DYK. This has to be fixed before the hook can be approved. There was also a significant amount of non-neutral phrasing and some uncited info. I made some edits to the page to make it more neutral and encyclopedic, which is hard because most of the sources are feel-good type articles. The page doesn't have to be great, but it does need to meet basic guidelines. I am proposing ALT1 if the article gets improved because I think the fact that he studied psychology makes it more interesting. BuySomeApples (talk) 02:42, 28 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Copyvio

[edit]

I've reworded some parts that were copied word-for-word from the source. I removed other material completely; the sources that refer to that are here.[1][2] Schwede66 06:15, 28 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
