Cleanup suggestions
[edit]pending better arguments I will remove the following:
The farm will displace more than 6,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions that would otherwise be produced by conventional hydrocarbon-fuelled power plants.
This a) doesn't make sense (6000 tons per day? Month? Year?) and b) is irrelevant to the encyclopedia entry.
b) is also true for
30 of these machines can power 20,000 UK homes. --BjornVDM 02:10, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

15% Efficiency
[edit]<added 21/01/2008 11:00> The hydraulic PTO system efficiency is near 84%. However the overall efficiency of the device is far less. I believe it would be nearer to 30% than 15% though. Would it not be prudent to remove all claims of device efficiency unless they are supported? I have removed the efficiency since it is unsupported. Please feel free to reinstate the figure if it can be properly referenced. <anon user>
Is this figure right? Sounds low to me. The efficiency mentioned for the hydraulic power conversion module in the google presentation video is 80%, this seems plausible for a hydraulic system. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.215.113.222 (talk)

First Prototype in 2007!?
[edit]The first prototype was installed at the European Marine Energy Centre in Orkney, Scotland, and officially opened on 28 September 2007.[1] This is incorrect. The link refers to a new plant announced in 2007. The prototype was installed in orkney in 2004 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.99.214.52 (talk) 15:16, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
Project dead???
[edit]The Oil Drum seems to be spreading some bad news about this project, [1]. I don't read Portuguese, so I'm a little hesitant to echo their conclusions drawn from the sources [2]. Anyway, I'm skeptical that the current article accurately represents the present state of the project to say the least. -Theanphibian (talk • contribs) 05:52, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
I believe that the Portugal operations and maintenance contract has some financial troubles. The three devices in Portugal are currently moored up at the dock as there is nobody to operate them! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.143.133.108 (talk) 11:56, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
- they are developing a new pelamis technology (Pelamis II), the current one (Pelamis) showed problems. the wave park stopped for sometime because one of the companies Babcock & Brown had financial problems and a technological problem, and will now be lead by Portuguese companies such as EDP, the wave park is expected to work again by 2010 (end of 2009) with the new technology. http://209.85.229.132/search?q=cache:sBcB4wmvtUEJ:www.ambienteonline.pt/noticias/detalhes.php%3Fid%3D8207+http://www.ambienteonline.pt/noticias/detalhes.php%3Fid%3D8207&cd=1&hl=pt-PT&ct=clnk&gl=pt&client=firefox-a -Pedro (talk) 01:34, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page
[edit]Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request its removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.
