Fair use rationale for Image:Salvador Allende template.jpg

[edit]

Image:Salvador Allende template.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This Article blows

[edit]

There is hardly a mention of Allende confiscating the farms of Chileans for a collectivizaton strategy. Nothing about how Allende violated the Constitution left and right. How his party LOST the provincial elections by a big margin! He ended up sharing the Chilean congress with opposition leaders as a result. NO mention of the March of Pots, one the BIGGEST of all protests during that time and it was fundamentally ANTI-ALLENDE. There is no mention of the 500% inflation that Allende cause due to his nationalization of Chilean industry which caused massive riots and protests all over Chilean ports! How filled up his cabinet with some of the worst of the worst ultr-left Marxist former guerillas! Any mention of how he was trying to circumvent the constitution to make the army RED by piling on his own generals and chiefs in there? NOTHING. If you are going to be critical. BE CRITICAL. Do not just say that he violted several thousand Constitutional regulations, EXPLAIN what some of those were!

Fascist pig. Apologize for the coup and murder of the Chilean people. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.130.146.70 (talk) 10:30, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Commie cunt!! Apologize for the allende marxist evil

(If any criticism of Allende by golpistas and/or any reasonable (non-mystical) arguments of non-marxists or non-left in Chile are known to you, oh Enraged Reader, please provide them in an orderly, non-exclamatory, non-preaching fashion. All the 'reductio ad hitlerum/stalinum' idiosyncrasies are not helping us in any way here. [Vilner]) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.251.49.56 (talk) 22:00, 18 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I propose a different title...

[edit]

...why not "Public Perceptions of Salvador Allende"? After all, this article is more about that than "criticism". 172.202.0.91 (talk) 20:31, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I can't believe this page even exists!!! How is its very existence non-POV? This is not a subject warranting a page in a serious, unbiased Encyclopedia. 203.110.145.13 (talk) 01:46, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Editing the "Marxist Perceptions" Section

[edit]

It's far beyond the realm of NPOV, not cited at all, and basically only could be read by a Allende apologist without humor. I have no beef with Allende, but that section is simply putrid. I propose either rewriting it (Shorter!) to actually show some various marxist responses, or deleting it entirely if that can't be done. VolushGod (talk) 08:10, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Move discussion in progress

[edit]

There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:Criticisms of socialism which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RM bot 20:45, 26 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is a weak article. It gives an inordinate amount of space to nonsense from Farías, despite acknowledging that "in Chile, the public response to Farías's revealings has been fairly low-key", lol . Much of the article does not seem to reflect on "Public image" of Allende, so much as various critiques that don't seem to have a lot of traction with the public. Is there really much more to say than Allende is seen as kind of a "secular saint" by the Chilean left and demonized by the Chilean right? If so, can't that just be integrated into the main Allende article? 2607:FB91:BD19:52C6:86BA:47B2:EB84:CDB5 (talk) 14:33, 30 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
