Sport category tag?

[edit]

I don't think the Sport category tag belongs on this article. It is not really a sport in the orthodox sense of the word. In any event the term "radiosport/radio sport" is a minority variant form of what is more commonly termed "Amateur Radio Contesting", the events are called "contests". Merge?

[edit]

I think this article can be merged into Contesting. I unfortunately do not know how to go about it. Please help. Roger (talk) 19:14, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. Only about a third of this article is related to Contesting, and merging it into that article would lose the information about radiosport as a multi-disciplinary concept.--Kharker (talk) 20:18, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
As I read it, this article itself does not really make that distinction all that clearly anyway. I think that distinction would actually be made clearer as a subsection in Contesting. To me it just looks like a smaller article about contesting that uses the eastern european terminology and emphasises one type of contesting which most of the english speaking world actually calls "foxhunting" or ARDF. "Foxhunting" is used a lot less these days because it can be confused with literal hunting (killing) of foxes (the animals). Roger (talk) 20:46, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disambig

[edit]

This article seems to be primarily a disambiguation page; I will tag it as such, which may attract more editors who can improve it. --Una Smith (talk) 04:42, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Three types" of radio sport?

[edit]

Article says this in a few places - but never seems to delineate just what these "three" are. Mike (talk) 20:43, 19 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
