Update banner

[edit]

The "Future" section of this article includes a banner saying it needs to be updated. Has this been done and therefore the banner could be removed or is there something specific which needs to be updated?— Rod talk 13:51, 8 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've been making short updates at the end as I spot them in the Chron. The real problem is that the early bulk of the section is largely superceded, and in the wrong tense/language "Bath Rugby's chief executive Bob Calleja wants to know if the club ...". I think large amounts need to be deleted or summarised, but was added by very keen bath Rugby supporting editors, and I haven't thought it worth a potential disagreement if I trimmed it. Perhaps now is the time to do this. Rwendland (talk) 14:17, 8 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That would be great - it could be a bit confusing as it stands to the uninvolved.— Rod talk 08:53, 9 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Rod, I've had a go at trimming it back to a summary that is cited. Does it look OK? (Some council URLs seem broken, but that may be a temp website database problem. If not repaired in a week or so, I will look at archive.org for copies.) Rwendland (talk) 21:14, 13 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bath Rugby copy intro para

[edit]

Just noticed, to some amusement, that Bath Rugby appear to have copied the second para of the article intro as the last para their "The Rec" webpage. For the record, this is their last para, with the 3 tiny changes they appear to have made struck through:

To date, about a quarter of the Rec is leased to Bath Rugby during the rugby union season as a sports ground capable of holding 12,200 people. During the summer the rugby ground's temporary East Stand is removed to make way for cricket on a larger pitch. This cricket pitch is used for local contests and by the Somerset County Cricket Club for one match a year. Parts of the eastern area of the Rec are used by Bath Hockey Club, Bath Croquet Club, Bath Drama Club and some tennis courts. Pitches are available for amateur sports such as football, volleyball and lacrosse. There is a cricket pavilion at the William Street entrance to the ground and the council run Sports and Leisure Centre is located on the southern edge of the Rec by North Parade.

I doubt this is a large enough copy to make an issue of this. Shame they don't link to the WP article, or credit it, though. Our para developed gradually over time, so I am pretty sure we didn't copy their para! Rwendland (talk) 16:14, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As quite a lot of that para was edited by me yes they copied from us! Dariusmehta (talk) 17:39, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
