Cleanup tag maintenance
[edit]Overhauled the article and removed the cleanup tag. -- Essjay · Talk 09:46, Jun 21, 2005 (UTC)
In popular culture question
[edit]"Controversy over the constitutionality of the Red Mass and attendance by American officials has been dramatized in such shows as The West Wing and Law & Order." - which episodes? 209.178.210.100 16:13, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
- As to The West Wing, that would be The Red Mass, S04E04. I don't know what Law and Order episode is being referenced in that sentence. SS451 09:42, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- It's the 1999 L&O/Homicide: LoTS crossover "Sideshow", where Detective John Munch mentions it in passing. It was just on TNT. 24.160.244.231 (talk) 03:37, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
New photo needed
[edit]The current photo of then-Cardinal Ratzinger and other prelates concelebrating in red vestments probably should be replaced as the photo wasn't taken at the type of Mass discussed in the article. Does anyone have a good photo from an actual Red Mass from the US or UK to substitute?Ranucci (talk) 22:07, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
Invisible reversions
[edit]These two edits yesterday -- here and here -- on the article associated with this page are gone but no further edits show up in the history here subsequent to the second edit. So I'm calling their removal "invisible reversions". Of course there are no explanations of the reversions.
By way of background, the first edit had to do with the 2011 DC mass and followed up directly on the non-attendance of Ruth Ginsberg to an earlier mass which was in and remains in the article. The second edit made, first, the link to "Holy Spirit" go to "Holy Spirit (Christianity)" instead; the first is the disambiguation page (WP:PIPE); and the edit made the link on the first reference to the term in the article. Then the edit linked explicitly the Holy Spirit and the tongues of fire, as it is in Acts as footnoted and in Wikipedia in the second paragraph of the "Holy Spirit (Christianity)" article linked to above. The tongues are specifically associated with the color red which gives the mass its name; the Holy Spirit is the better-known phrase.
What does one do about this? I don't know, beyond noting it here, yet. Swliv (talk) 15:18, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
- The "invisible reversions" ("temporary misprints" of some sort?) have somehow now been themselves reversed, I think in their totality. The original edits as described above are now incorporated in the article, with the second edit (still) being listed as the top edit in the history. Swliv (talk) 22:27, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
- Not to flog the proverbial or put too fine a point on it but if, say, the two edits were gone just for a good chunk of the 2nd and the 3rd, an appreciable share of a year's readers would have missed them. Swliv (talk) 14:48, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
