Introduction

[edit]

The introduction claims that Dr. Khator is the first foreign-born president of the university. Dr. Philip Guthrie Hoffman (President 1961-1977) was born in Kobe, Japan [1] to American missionary parents. I understand where the statement about Dr. Khator is going, but it appears there needs to be more qualifications to it to improve accuracy. 2602:306:C5A0:A800:E449:877E:7F1E:2151 (talk) 02:49, 18 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Edit Assistasnce

[edit]

Hello Monitor/Editor ---

I am seeking assistance and guidance in updating this article about Renu Khator. The current version doesn’t provide information past 2011. I would like to provide more recent information for evaluation and, if deemed appropriate, have it added to this article. CONFLICT OF INTEREST: I am Eric Gerber, communications director of the University of Houston (egerber@uh.edu), where Khator is president. I am cited as one of the references in the current profile. Please advise. Eryangerber (talk) 19:59, 13 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You should post the exact requests here (for example: Remove x due to y, and add z instead), as well as providing sources for the proposed changes. All of this is talked about in detail in the edit request instructions, so you may wish to review that in order to maximize your chances of having the request implemented. Regards, VB00 (talk) 10:57, 17 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Concur with VB00. Edit requests are intended to work as thus: editors with a conflict of interest can propose specific edits/sentences, which are then reviewed by unbiased Wikipedia editors for neutrality, sufficient citations to reliable sources, copyright and close paraphrasing checks, and compliance with other policies. The onus is on the edit requestor to provide a workable draft. Since the edit request queue has a backlog of over 0 entries, requests that provide specific changes or additions will receive priority over general requests for updates. As you have not provided any specific sentences you wish to have added to the article, I am afraid there's not much I can currently do to help you. Altamel (talk) 02:13, 19 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
