Crawling isn't a new feature?
[edit]The current page as at 14 Feb 2008 says: "Another fundamental change to the gameplay from the original games is the ability to crawl left and right while ducking, and this will likely be necessary in order to complete some of the new levels in Return to Dark Castle (as well as find secrets in both new and old levels)."
I recall you could do this in Beyond Dark Castle, at least when ducking at the entrance to low tunnels in the catacombs?
-You are partially correct here, and maybe the article should be edited to reflect this. However, there *is* a difference in RTDC in that you can crawl *anywhere* in the game now, rather than just in the single situation that you list from BDC. This affects many other things in the game as well, like being able to find secrets exits and other things, which is why the page lists this as a fundamental change to the gameplay. Feel free to edit this, though, if you disagree. Tbone922 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tbone922 (talk • contribs) 15:06, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
Can someone get a screenshot of the Decmber 19th screenshot?
[edit]please, the page could use it.
What exactly do you want? The e-mail? I can forward it to you and then you can put that up if that would be easiest.

Level Editor Screenshot?
[edit]The screenshot of the level editor is not displayaing... I think it was removed by one of the bots and needs to be put back up... A similar thing happened on the Color Dark Castle page with the secret room picture where it was removed by a bot, but I undid the changes. Izdale 20:14, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
Hmmm, it's showing up for me... Jon God 10:11, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
All I see when I click on it is an empty white space where the picture should be Izdale 06:32, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
I see, it's doing it to me now, for both the editor, and the original level picture, if you click on them though, they will load... Jon God 20:33, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
Weird, I just hit article, and they are there again.... Jon God 20:36, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
Dark Castle Forum
[edit]There is a forum for fans of all the games in the Dark Castle series, and it can be found here: http://s 6.i n v i s i o n f r e e.com/Dark_Castle_Forum/
This is a great place to discuss your favorite things about the Dark Castle games (while helping to cope with the wait for DC3), and it will be an awesome spot for trading demos, save files, and custom level sets for Return to Dark Castle. Hope to see you there!
Date crystalballing
[edit]Let's stop posting speculation about the release date, eh? I know it's supposed to be soon, but there hasn't been a source cited for the release dates. Once somebody publishes an official date, we'll cite it and put it in there. If there is an official date and I missed it, by all means link to the source. Staecker 01:22, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
- Well one of the devs hinted at a september release date on the forum, if you don't believe me check it out 69.181.234.203 20:09, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
- I don't think that hints are what we're looking for. Staecker 21:03, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
Spoiler removals
[edit]Folks who continually remove information about the stone ball and crossbow should read WP:SPOIL for our spoiler policy. I'll quote: "It is not acceptable to delete information from an article about a work of fiction because you think it spoils the plot". These are notable new weapons in the game. Staecker (talk) 00:19, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- Stoneballs and crossbow may be "notable new weapons". The same can be said for the sword, the various pieces of armor or the steel barrels that get thrown at you in Grand Stairway, not to mention new enemies like paratrooper mutants, crows or ghouls. None of these additional ones were mentioned in the article, nor need they be. It is sufficient to discuss the additions of new weapons generically, as I have done.
- Likewise, the ending does not add to the gameplay, and as such describing it in detail does not serve encyclopedic purpose IMHO.
- That said, I admit I was not aware of WP:SPOIL before being bold and making my edits. I was under the impression that spoilers were generally to be labeled as such, having seen this practice followed in previous articles.
- Having reviewed the policy, however, I do not feel my changes detract from the encyclopedic value of the article, and thus have left them.
- If others disagree, I will not fight a revert war -- but please note that I have also added descriptions of significant new features like savegames and gameplay recordings that previous editors apparently felt were not as important as the appearance of a new weapon. So if you revert the article, please preserve those additions.

- I've replaced the story ending details- you are right that they have nothing to do with the gameplay, but that's not why they are mentioned. If the story is to be described, then let's describe the whole story- not just half of it. I agree that losing the "notable new weapons" info is OK- you are right that lots of other perhaps notable innovations are not (and need not be) described. Staecker (talk) 23:13, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
