[edit]This person is not notable, unless she's done something mindblowing within the last few years that hasn't made it into this biography. New York is full of "art stars" who perform one or two tired routines at open mics for years to be applauded by a coterie of worshipful sycophants. Outside that group, there's no appeal or interest. I've heard a lot about Reverend Jen. However, this article is in desperate need of a re-write. She's notable, but this article doesn't seen to have enough written about her. Fanficgurl 2:27 October 19 2006 (UTC)
This person looks really, really, really NON-notable to me. According to her own website (which has broken links to her own pages) her media exposure has been minimal. Her major accomplishment seems to have been a small "off-off-off-broadway" troll museum (that's a doll collection presented in a bizarre way to be considered art by some). When she shows you that she has received "coverage" from the Village Voice, it's a two-paragraph blurb at the end of an article about a hodge-podge mix of events and people. That's nowhere near the feature article or interview I was expecting to find.OfficeGirl 18:58, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
I expect that it won't be possible to develop a Wikipedia article devoted exclusively to this person and have it meet the standards necessary for notability. HOWEVER, a solution to that problem might be to construct an article setting forth the alternative art community that Reverend Jen is a part of. Someone, or a few people have tried to make individual articles about groups and trends in that community, and the articles don't look like they will pass muster in the long run. But combining all those elements into one article might be a strong presentation worthy of Wikipedia-- AND I thing a merged article would be much more helpful and informative to new readers who are unfamiliar with the alternative art community being featured here.OfficeGirl 18:58, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
Well, she did direct Moby's music video as well as appear in it. That makes her notable to me. TF_Fan 19 7:52 October 2006 (UTC)
- Then perhaps it's just a matter of getting together better source material to document her notability. Rev. Jen Miller herself doesn't seem to be too concerned about demonstrating her own notability, but perhaps some of her fans can roll up their sleeves and find some good stuff, and a couple of people have shown that they can do that really well just today.
- There have been tremendous changes to the article since it was tagged and there was discussion earlier today requesting better information about her notability. Really great changes. The article is looking really, really good, and there is a world of improvement in the quality. I am glad that the tags and discussion were received as a constructive call to action. It really restores my faith in the Wiki community!OfficeGirl 03:45, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the encouraging words. A lot of people added to the article to improve it. I'm glad the effort paid off. Does the notice at the top of the page suggest that the page is still in question -- is it a blanket statement made on all pages about living people -- or is it outdated from the period before the Rev. Jen page was updated? I'd like to know if it should be removed or acted upon in some way. Digit LeBoid 20:15, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
She is a "prophet"?
