  • Reiser claimed that while he would sometimes spend months or years to finish a song, his song "Der Traum ist aus", which became one of the most famous songs of "Ton Steine Scherben", just came into his mind out of nowhere in one night, complete with lyrics and music.
  • Reiser claimed that he read the bible each day, one chapter from the Old and one from the New Testament, although he did not think highly of traditional Christianity and strongly denounced Pope John Paul II in one interview. Bible quotes can be found in several of his lyrics. At the same time he was interested in various ways of esotericism which also strongly influenced "Ton Steine Scherben", including in particular the making of the "Black Album" where the band let their Tarot cards govern the choice of songs, the order of recording and the topics of the lyrics.
  • Reiser befriended the famous Schlager singer Marianne Rosenberg in the Nineties, wrote a few songs for her and sometimes performed with her.
  • In 1995, Reiser played the lead role in an episode of the German TV series Tatort where he impersonated a former left-wing rebel who came out of prison after years to find all of his former friends and co-fighters to have become settled career people. He also composed and recorded the title song for that episode.
  • According to lead vocalist Mille Petrozza, the song "Destroy What Destroys You" by German thrash metal band Kreator was inspired by a Reiser quote[1].
