Kullervo
[edit]What is meant here by "in the wake of Kullervo"? That it was written immediately after Sibelius' Kullervo? Or something else? In any case, it could be much clearer. - Jmabel | Talk 18:25, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

"was the most prominent Finnish composer before Jean Sibelius" disputed
[edit]The statement "Robert Kajanus was the most prominent Finnish composer before Jean Sibelius" is given without reference, and it contradicts other sources. The Wiki article on Bernhard Crusell says that Crusell was "the most significant and internationally best-known Finnish-born classical composer and indeed, — the outstanding Finnish composer before Sibelius," and that does give a reference. (I think it is also in line with what most people would expect?) Grove says, "In the 1880s Kajanus was one of the leading Finnish composers" ... one of the leading, for a few years, hardly makes him THE most prominent before Sibelius.
