Requested move 20 March 2016[edit]

The result of the move request was: moved to Rock'n Soul (Everly Brothers album). Listed for over a month and no actual disagreement with disambiguation, discussion made reasonable arguments for keeping the spacing as is (i.e. certainly no consensus for change). Old title will be redirected to Rock and Soul. — Jenks24 (talk) 14:51, 2 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Rock'n SoulRock 'n Soul (The Everly Brothers album)WP:NCM, and Rock 'n' Soul (Solomon Burke album); see Rock 'n Soul Jean-Pierre Hombach Elvis Presley The King of Rock ’n’ Roll p.120 also Rock 'n' Soul Larkin The Encyclopedia of Popular Music p.2006 and The International Who's Who in Popular Music 2002, entries for Everly, Don and Everly Phil. The presence or absence of an extra ' isn't maintained in sources and ' is not enough to distinguish Solomon Burke from The Everly Brothers to even the most diehard fan of either. • Comment. We need to get the details straight. For one thing, the album cover says Rock'n Soul, no space before 'n. The Allmusic article (now) lists it as Rock N Soul, no apostrophes, capital N. This calls it Rock 'n' Soul. This calls it Rock 'N' Soul. What is the most common, or otherwise the most preferable form per our guidelines? This is something to establish before moving things around.
Also, please make sure to format the dab page correctly.--Cúchullain t/c 16:15, 21 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Surely the album cover itself is most authoritative, and anything else is wrong. If other sources overwhelmingly and consistently refer to it using another name, then perhaps WP:COMMONNAME comes into play and this wrong name may trump that on the album cover, but I doubt that that's the case here. I just noticed that the cover of the Solomon Burke album spells it as "Rock 'n Soul", i.e. no second apostrophe. That article should therefore also be moved, although I agree that a disambiguator will still be needed in both cases. Bazonka (talk) 14:26, 1 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
