Regarding the unlinking of the amateur wins and Walker Cup: WP:OVERLINK says "Generally, a link should appear only once in an article, but if helpful for readers, links may be repeated in infoboxes, tables, image captions, footnotes, and at the first occurrence after the lead."

IMO, having the links repeated in the "Amateur wins" section and the "Team appearances" section falls within the exception, especially with the Walker Cup, which is far removed from the first mention.

The other changes I reverted: He played on the European Tour not the PGA European Tour, that is the parent organization of the ET, European Seniors Tour and Challenge Tour (see also WP:NOTBROKEN) Removing the extra spaces from the infobox and persondata templates makes them harder to read when editing. Thanks for the explanation. I didn't really think the second instance of the Walker Cup was far enough away to warrant re-linking, but if you think the article is better with it, that's fine. Sorry about the complete revert, I hadn't realized the wikilink change (PGA European Tour → European Tour) until after I reverted. Regards, HMman (talk) 18:34, 5 September 2012 (UTC).[reply]
