Philadelphia Flyers
[edit]I know that you may or may not want to put this in the article. Many Phillies fans didn't watch Halladay's perfect game because the Flyers were playing Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals in Chicago at the same time. I'm not going to put in the information about the Flyers opening the Finals at this time. Also, let's not put that info in at this time. You can decide if it should be there or not, as both the perfect game and the first game of the Finals took place at the same time. NBC replayed the final out during the first intermission report. -- SNIyer12, (talk). 15:02 10 October 2010 (UTC)
- That information will be in a Trivia section, if desired. Other than that, let's leave it the way it is. -- SNIyer12, (talk). 21:41 10 October 2010 (UTC)
- Trivia sections are undesired. I suppose that information is notable (I being among those fans), but it would belong in an "Aftermath" section. ~EDDY (talk/contribs/editor review)~ 19:55, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
- OK. I agree. -- SNIyer12, (talk), 21:33, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, "Broadcasting" would be better, if you can find a source. ~EDDY (talk/contribs/editor review)~ 22:27, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
- OK. Yes, we need to mention Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals taking place the same night. -- SNIyer12, (talk), 11:55, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

Should we put the details about the Flyers in the "Aftermath" section, adding the section? Please let me know and I'll move the details about the Flyers there. -- SNIyer12, (talk), 03:07, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
Hey, I'm not an editor but come on-- a sentence like "Most Phillies fans were tuned to the Flyers-Blackhawks game on NBC at the time of the final calls" does not belong in an objective article anywhere. It's pure and unfounded speculation. It's pbviously impossible to know what "most Phillies fans" were doing. At any time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.27.229.134 (talk) 05:32, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
- I made clear that the Philadelphia Flyers were playing for the Stanley Cup at the same time as the perfect game. It is not speculation that most Phillies fans were tuned to the Flyers-Blackhawks game on NBC at the time Halladay was pitching his perfect game and during the final calls. I also made clear that NBC replayed the final out during the first intermission report. -- SNIyer12, (talk), 14:06, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
Cy Young award in aftermath?
[edit]Should we mention it there? Seems appropriate Purplebackpack89 06:57, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
- The Cy Young award was won based on his season-long dominance, of which this game was but a small part. I don't think it warrants mention. Mindmatrix 13:28, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
Did he or didn't he?
[edit]The section about final calls contradicts itself over whether or not Tom McCarthy alluded to the perfect game before it ended. AutomaticStrikeout (talk) 18:58, 11 June 2012 (UTC)
