Future of this article
[edit]At present, this article covers two different subjects: the Star & Garter charity, and the building on Richmond Hill. For most of the past century, those have been one and the same thing; but with the disposal of the Richmond building, and the opening of new homes elsewhere, that's changing. I think we need to make some decisions about what to do with the article. In the longer term, I'm quite sure we'll need to split it, but I don't think that time has come yet: there's not yet enough to say about the post-S&G redevelopment of the Richmond building, or the new homes in Solihull and Surbiton, to warrant separate articles. However, I would propose changing the article title to Royal Star & Garter Homes, and reworking the lead a bit, to make it clear that the core topic of the article is the charity, with the history of the Richmond building an incidental (albeit fairly major) component of that. - Thanks for raising the issue, GrindtXX. You're right in saying that in the longer term we ought to think about splitting the article, but I don't think there's enough to say yet about the Royal Star & Garter Homes as an organisation to justify changing the article title. I think the listed building and its history remains the main area of interest. Headhitter (talk) 17:03, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
