Untitled[edit]

Too lazy, but the German page says that he joined the Bundesliga in 1980 with 1860 Munich. In the 81 season 1860 was bumped down to the 2nd Bundesliga. After a year in the 2nd, Rudi switched to Werder Bremen.

Dubious Information[edit]

Caps and goal figures in the article likely contain European cup/Domestic cup data in addition to Domestic League data (this is very certain based on this user's previous edits containing similar information [1]. Please correct this issue and leave a note here, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Alfmaster#Footballers.27_European_goals, to warn this person about putting improper information on Wikipedia. --Palffy 21:10, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Spitting Incident[edit]

This article should mention Voeller spitting on Frnak Rijcard in 1990 world cup. Wikipedia should at least mention good and *bad* points of pserson. This article is a bit too much hagiography to be agood wikipdeia article Franz-kafka 21:52, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

--Rijkaard spat on Voller not the other way around.

He was definitely involved, Rijkaard did not spit on him fo no reason, it was alleged that Völler was racially taunting Rijkaard

Did Voeller spit on Rijkaard? What are the allegations of racial taunting and who made them? Look at how the incident took place and the impassioned atmosphere both before the game and during it.

I'm sure that Rijkaard spat on Völler's Muller, and then Voeller spat back and then they both got sent off.

-> Voeller spat back? No, he didn't! Where did you get that from? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.116.24.237 (talk) 12:52, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Frank Rijkaard and Rudi Völler were sent off in a niggly World Cup match between Holland and Germany. Rijkaard had been angered by a challenge from Völler and took out his frustration by spitting at the Germany forward. Völler retorted and the red cards came out" [2]

>>it was alleged that Völler was racially taunting Rijkaard<<

That`s easily the biggest BULLSHIT I have ever heard in my life. You obviously haven`t seen this match, you probably weren`t even born back then, but what you DO know is that Rijkaard "did not spit on him for no reason". Do you really think Frank would have apologized if this were the case ? Do you think he would have remained silent about it ? That`s not to say Voeller was entirely innocent to what happened. If I remember correctly, he had slide-tackled the Dutch goalkeeper.

Gaming Info & Other Recent Additions Cut[edit]

This entire article is poorly documented and referenced. More info on gaming and an advertising controversy (documented by a German language article was recently added. Since Voeller is a soccer player and the addition is about soccer/football, I cut it. Please document it if you want to add to the article. Tapered (talk) 06:51, 10 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
