Revision

[edit]

I´m a little concerned with possible orthographic or harmony mistakes in the article´s text, since it was translated from Portugues Wikipedia. I would appreciate if someone with high comprehension level of English language could make a reviw. Dornicke 16:58, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Theft.

[edit]

There was a theft in São Paulo Museum of Art on December 20th. A Picasso and a Portinari were stolen.

Third attempt

[edit]

I'm removing the information about the third attempt of robbery in the São Paulo Museum of Art because it's not in the right context. The robbery existed, indeed, but it was in another museum in São Paulo, called Estação Pinacoteca. There was also some mistakes in the information, confusing facts of the last robbery with others from the seccond attempt in the São Paulo Museum of Art, like the time and the materials used. The image Image:Picasso-suzanne bloch.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

Unknown word

[edit]

I found the word protented (technique...), under the section "the building". This word does not exist, and I'm really not sure what is meant by it. Anyone have any idea what is meant? — Preceding unsigned comment added by RulerofKnowledge (talkcontribs) 13:18, 16 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

that was a bad translation from the portuguese concreto protendido - which in english would be Prestressed concrete. but that whole phrase needs restructuring since it is unverified. a patented version of prestressed concrete allowed MASP to be build, but MASP did not inaugurate the technique. Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on São Paulo Museum of Art. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

new administration

[edit]

i think it would be worth mentioning the new administration that took over in late 2014. this meant new curatorial staff, new exhibit design (based on lina bo bardi's old designs), the return of lina's glass and concrete easels for the permanent collection, the return of the Fausto Godoy asian collection, new acquisitions, new editorial guidelines and a bunch of other stuff. Infobox

[edit]

@Alsee and all, I've been testing {{Infobox museum/wikidata}} here, which fetches info from Wikidata rather than storing it locally. I've been trying it on a set of local museums, most of which didn't already have infoboxes so this was a quick way to improve those articles; this was the most complete (and hence most challenging) test of it. I appreciate the feedback on the first version. The image has been changed (by changing it on Wikidata), the map is different (using a local override to show both the local and national map). The visitor numbers are more complicated: the number given here was not supported by the provided reference, so I've replaced it with a more recent and better-referenced version (which matches the ptwp infobox). My edit wasn't WP:POINTy, and I'd appreciate more feedback both on the content and why this might be PITA. I know that the template document needs to exist, and I'll add this soon! Thanks. • @Mike Peel Mike: it's missing some elements from Wikidata, notably the architect. I'm not loving the move of infoboxes to Wikidata, but it seems like a done deal. Question: will we be able to nest an infobox/infoboxes within an infobox? There's many examples of museums within churches, etc. Thanks! Prburley (talk) 17:15, 29 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Mike Peel, please STOP pointlessly and disruptively removing the infobox content from the page. The only positive thing you've done here is finding the new visitor-info ref, so thanks for that.
P.S. Prburley, It's now an undone deal on this page. Mike Peel and a small number of other people have been trying to push Wikidata on Wikipedia, but a lot of people have been complaining about the attempts to moving things like infoboxes and refs and lists and other things to Wikidata. If you're interested, there's discussion going on at WT:Wikidata/2017_State_of_affairs. Alsee (talk) 18:07, 29 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Alsee: OK, I won't add it back. It's possible to use the old version of the article for testing purposes anyway. As I said, I appreciate feedback.
@Prburley: If you look at the old version, I've now added the architect, thanks for pointing that out - although it won't appear in the current version unless manually added since that no longer uses Wikidata. It is possible to embed one infobox in another in some cases - use "embedded = {{other infobox|child=yes}}" - but that's not been enabled in all infobox templates yet. If there are cases where it would be particularly useful but not working yet, let me know and I'll look into adding it. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 21:26, 29 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
