...the Sabri Brothers continue to be very highly regarded.

[edit]

I'm not sure I'd put it in the present tense. It may have been true while Ghulam Fareed was still alive. I'm not so sure it's true now with the current lineup.--Sarabseth 12:20, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Honorifics such as Haji

[edit]

Isn't there some kind of wiki policy against the use of such honorifics? --Sarabseth 12:21, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Amjad Sabri

[edit]

When did he join the Sabri Brothers? Up to a year ago, he used to head his own qawwali party. --Sarabseth 13:02, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Request to 80.47.221.6

[edit]

Could you possibly add a discussion of "jemal" and "jelal" to the Qawwali entry?

Thanks! --Sarabseth 13:06, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There were four Sabri brothers.

[edit]

To 74.96.77.90:

Please don't keep changing this back to "There are four Sabri brothers."

There were 4, 2 died, now there are 2. --Sarabseth 14:21, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Their first public performances were ...

[edit]

To 74.96.77.90:

Please don't keep putting "Their first public performances were..." out of sequence.

It belongs after the group is said to be formed, not before. --Sarabseth 14:24, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Early Life

[edit]

This doesn't make sense any more:

"The Sabri brothers were taught music by their father, Ustad Haji Inayat Sen Sabri. He trained his sons in Qawwali and North Indian classical music. Their first public performances were at the annual Urs festival of Hazrat Peer Mubarak Shah in Kalyana in 1946, at 16 and 5 years of age, respectively."

Originally the article talked only of the two main brothers (Farid and Maqbool). Now it talks about all four. So this bit, which uses "The Sabri brothers" to refer only to Farid and Maqbool doesn't work. --Sarabseth 01:12, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Original Members: edit of June 10

[edit]

With the 3 names added, there are now 7 chorus members listed. They did not have 7 chorus members when they started. Does anyone know if the new additions are members of the party as of some later date? --Sarabseth 17:26, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
