Samalkota → Samalkot – According to CENSUS INDIA the official name is Samalkot and Samalkota is a sub-district (mandal/tehsil), reference page see this. Vin09 (talk) 14:23, 9 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Mmm. You have a point. సామర్లకోట probably should be transliterated Samalkot. And the new romanization of Telugu below is rl ర్ల In ictu oculi (talk) 10:04, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@In ictu oculi: some proofs postal code, railway site, but I'm not able to stress more on this, as in Google maps it has samarlakota. I hope you are an expertise in wiki. Samarlakota gets 86,400 Ghits, Samalkota gets 30,60,000 and Samalkot gets 5,07,000 Ghits. So Samarlakota is ruled out. I tried to look for some news articles to apply to check which of the remaining two could be a WP:COMMONNAME and I couldn't really find much. So based on Ghits, I feel the article should stay unmoved. — LeoFrank ^Talk 14:31, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
