Sarah Graham Kenan was born on February 17, 1876 in Wilmington, North Carolina to William Rand Kenan, Sr. and Mary Hargrave Kenan.[1] Her father, a Civil War veteran, businessman, white supremacist, and trustee of the University of North Carolina, participated in the Wilmington insurrection of 1898.[2][3].
This really infurates me to see William Rand Kenan to be deemed a White Supremacist because he helped to bring law and order to a city that was being burnt to the ground. The usage of White Supremacist is not a word that I take lightly and neither should the contributor that made the change. A valid proof in the usage of this word should be made before it was allowed to be added. I also disagree that this word was placed under a valid sentence that is accredited to Thomas Kenan III. This word placement changed the validity of Thomas Kenan III being the reference, therefore it should be removed. 71.210.109.106 (talk) 03:22, 28 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
