This page, which is supposed to be a bio, seems like a re-hash of the issues when Lingamfelter defeated Day in the 2007 elections. I get the suspicion here a Day supporter tried to use this page as an extension of Day's campaign. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.114.108.244 (talk) 03:59, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I found this

[edit]
"Lingamfelter is an adherent to the Founders’ vision of constitutional and conservative government. Delegate Lingamfelter is a voice for both social and fiscal conservatism in the General Assembly."

in a section entitled House of Delegates (which makes me feel dumb because I have no idea what that means) and moved it here because it at best needs to be be referenced and at worst is from his campaign literature or someone's blog. Einar aka Carptrash (talk) 23:04, 27 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

All of the following were in the article; I am moving them here for response. —C.Fred (talk) 00:47, 16 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox

[edit]

Information to be added: Title "Honorable". Explanation of issue: The proper title for my status, both when I was elected and now afterwards, is "The Honorable". BEFORE Scott, ADD TEXT "The Honorable". Reference: Clerk of the House of Delegates. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Scottlingamfelter (talkcontribs)

Not done Titles do not become part of the names. I will check peers in the HoD and similar bodies to see how their titles are rendered, though. —C.Fred (talk) 00:46, 16 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Retirement and end of term

[edit]

Information to be added. Current political statues: I am a "former" politician having retired in January 2018. Reference: Election results Nov 2017. End of term was January 2018. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Scottlingamfelter (talkcontribs)

Done Would be better to cite an article published by the press that SL retired, but I'll go with this for now. —C.Fred (talk) 00:46, 16 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Education and military career

[edit]

Information to be added: AFTER "raised" INSERT "by Doctor Carl Scott Lingamfelter and Marguerite Clarke Lingamfelter" Explanation of issue: accuracy. Reference: my personal information.

Information to be added: My High School. Information to be added: After the end of the first sentence. please insert "In 1969, he graduated from Benedictine High School in Richmond, Virginia." Reference: My personal academic record.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Scottlingamfelter (talkcontribs)

Not done We need to verify it to a published source. Is it in an interview? Archived HoD biography? —C.Fred (talk) 00:46, 16 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information to be added: Insert graduation years after Army Command and General Staff College "(1985)", after Armed Forces Staff College "(1988)" and after Army War College "(1997)". Explanation of issue. Dates clarify that I did not graduate from all three at the same time. Also accuracy. Reference: My personal academic record. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Scottlingamfelter (talkcontribs)

Not done Arguably, all three of those should be removed if they aren't verified with a published source. The source currently cited says SL attended the Army War College and was class president, but it doesn't explicitly say he graduated. —C.Fred (talk) 00:46, 16 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

House of Delegates: Tenure

[edit]

Information to be added: Additional Sub-Committee Chairmanship. Explanation of issue: I was also the "Sub-Committee Chairman of the Public Safety Committee of Appropriations" Please reflect that also. Reference: Records of the House of Delegates. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Scottlingamfelter (talkcontribs)

@Scottlingamfelter: I'm leaving this one open. If you can reply with the link to the records, that will speed the verification process. However, I think this is verifiable. —C.Fred (talk) 00:46, 16 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Explanation of the issue: Grammar. Information to be added: I think "that" should appear before "voted" and strike the "Virginia Delegate L. Scott Lingamfelter with" and insert "him". This makes the sentence clear. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Scottlingamfelter (talkcontribs)

Done That was an awkward run-on sentence. I have copyedited to clear it up. —C.Fred (talk) 00:46, 16 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Personal life

[edit]

Explanation of issue: I am now a writer and author. I would request you insert a new paragraph here that reads as follows: "Since his retirement from politics, Lingamfelter has devoted his time to writing. He is the author of "Desert Redleg: Artillery Warfare in the First Gulf War" and also routinely contributes political and national security articles and commentaries to major news journals. Reference is https://www.kentuckypress.com/9780813179209/desert-redleg/?fbclid=IwAR0KFmlujO55ChGahW_zj362MCQ5PZzAqrbsxSLjPF18yoOrmr1c7uZ4SxA — Preceding unsigned comment added by Scottlingamfelter (talkcontribs)

Leaving open pending review of sources. This implies, though, that writing is a hobby, rather than a professional endeavour. —C.Fred (talk) 00:46, 16 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
ClockC Not done for now This particular section of the review has run for 11 days and no outcome has been posted. If the COI editor wishes to pursue, kindly open a new edit request, or change the answer parameter of this request to "no". If they wish, the COI editor may attempt to revive stalled communications by posting a friendly reminder on the reviewer's talk page. Additionally, one of the claims in this section, that the subject "routinely contributes to political and national security articles and commentaries to major news journals" is not verified by the Kentucky Press reference. My children are all grown and do not want their names in public. I would request you strike that sentence referencing them and insert. "They have three adult children and four grandchildren." Also our current church is "All Saints Anglican Church in Woodbridge, Virginia". Please update that. Reference: My personal information.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Scottlingamfelter (talkcontribs)

yellow tickY Partly done Adult children's names get fuzzy with the BLP; however, none of them are notable, so it's easy to err on the side of caution and remove that. Also, the church membership is out of date, so I have removed that. We'd need a new, published, reliable source to update. —C.Fred (talk) 00:46, 16 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
