Image copyright problem with Image:LFP.svg
[edit]The image Image:LFP.svg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.

The Segunda División has not always been organized by the LFP, mainly because the LFP didn't exist before the eighties. Before 1986 or so, it was organized by the RFEF (Real Federación Española de Fútbol). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.136.235.199 (talk) 22:08, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
Merging All-Time Segunda División table to this article
[edit]Hello! I'd like to propose that the above-referenced article -- a rather excellent win-loss table -- be merged into this article, as a folded-in, default-hidden table. I think it's fairly clear that a win-loss table on its own shouldn't be an article topic (it's inherently non-notable), but it's a pretty excellent table and I think it might be useful in this article.
That said, I am completely unfamiliar with the Segunda Division. I'd love to get feedback from editors on this article before proceeding. Thank you. ɠǀɳ̩ςεΝɡbomb 03:53, 29 April 2010 (UTC)
- Insofar as nobody's responded, I'm assuming there is no objection to this and have gone ahead and done the merge (WP:BOLD, etc. etc. :). Everything is revertable via history, including the from article in the merge (which I converted to a redirect) in case anybody wants to tweak what I did or thinks it shouldn't have happened in the first place! Cheers. ɠǀɳ̩ςεΝɡbomb 06:58, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
Play off
[edit]Sorry for my english. There's not a promotion play off for the 3rd place, as is said in the Competition system section. It was eliminated several years ago. The top three promote directly to La liga. This year promote Real Sociedad, Levante and Elche Hercules. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.217.179.231 (talk) 11:35, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
Proposal to change the name of article title to La Liga 2
[edit]Seeing as how La Liga changed the second division to "La Liga 2" (stylized as LaLiga2) I propose we change the name to La Liga 2. Segunda División is too generic and virtually every Spanish-speaking nation calls their second division "Segunda División". Now that that La Liga de Fútbol Profesional makes the clear distinction between the two divisions, I believe we should change it. --MicroX (talk) 21:33, 9 July 2016 (UTC)
Requested move 16 July 2016
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: not moved. Prayer for the wild at heart (talk) 14:16, 22 July 2016 (UTC)
Segunda División → LaLiga2 – Also posible La Liga 2 to follow La Liga article criteria. New name of the league by the LFP, who manages the league, but not by the RFEF. Asturkian (talk) 14:27, 16 July 2016 (UTC)
- I support the name change to La Liga 2 with spaces. LaLiga2 is a stylized name. It's the new name and is now consistent with the first division which calls it La Liga (also stylized as LaLiga by the LPF). I support consistency among the same group of articles. --MicroX (talk) 17:19, 16 July 2016 (UTC)
- I also support the name change to La Liga 2Footwiks (talk) 04:38, 17 July 2016 (UTC)
Note: Three weeks after Segunda's rebranding, "La Liga 2" has already been superseded by the sponsored name "La Liga 1|2|3".[1] Prayer for the wild at heart (talk) 14:16, 22 July 2016 (UTC)

Move discussion in progress
[edit]There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:Primera Division RFEF which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 19:35, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
La Liga 2
[edit]At no point in the brand evolution of La Liga and Segunda División (https://www.laliga.com/sala-de-prensa/que-es-laliga) the name "La Liga2" has been used, so I return the article to the original name.
Already on 16 July 2016 a name change or move to "La Liga2" was requested. The debate was closed and not moved. It can be called "LaLiga Hypermotion" but nowhere is it known as LaLiga2.--Fittipaldi92 (talk) 08:35, 9 April 2024 (UTC)
Segunda División logo- Request for publication of appropriate logo
[edit]I have uploaded again to Wikimedia Commons the logos with the highest resolution. These logos correspond to the competition itself (they are not the logos of La Liga as an institution) but of the Primera División or "LaLiga" (LaLiga EA Sports) and Segunda División (LaLiga Hypermotion)
I tried to place the new logos in the articles and they were removed. As can be seen in the attached brand evolution chart, the logo provided is appropriate for the competition. Please restitute it. Thank you very much.
