Promotional tone

[edit]

I recently added an advert tag to the page and was reverted by user ConflagrantCortex requesting he "need more information on how this article might read as an advertisement, or how it contains promotional content." Below is a list of some content that reads like an advertisement:

  • "and a noted judicial reformer and administrator in the Province of Ontario, Canada."
  • "One of Linden’s major accomplishments in this role was to obtain a grant from The Ford Foundation, which improved the association’s ability to fund its staff and activities."
  • "In a sensational incident, he was ejected from court by a judge for attempting to represent an accused as duty counsel."
  • "From scratch, Linden set up a head office and six branches"
  • "The Plan remains the largest pre-paid legal services plan in Canada." - unsourced
  • "Linden’s efforts in this direction led to negotiation of a memorandum of understanding between the court and the ministry, the first of its kind in Canada and a model for other courts."
  • "He was also commended for handling a delicate and potentially explosive inquiry with skill and diplomacy, affording due consideration to native culture and sensitivities."
  • "Linden was inducted into the Order of Ontario, the province’s highest official honor"

These are easy fixes that can be corrected by simply removing the promotional language. Meatsgains (talk) 02:27, 14 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I went ahead and removed some of the promotional tone myself. Page still needs some work but this is a start. Meatsgains (talk) 03:38, 17 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
