Silver and Silver Prepaid

There is no need to classify a channel as Silver Prepaid because Silver Prepaid is just a prepaid version of SkyCable Silver. Classifying it as Silver is enough.

Channel Guide

Channel guide is based on SkySked Channel 11. Please refrain from reverting my edits without proper consulatation with this channel first.

Color Designation in the Channel Guide Section

May I suggest some things in the Channel Guide section?

  • Change color designaions by using pastel colors. The current color designation is an eyesore since it contrasts with the default grey background of channels with no color designation.
  • Correct some errors in the color designations.

The Sky Cable-exclusive channels to date, if we ignore availability in satellite providers like DREAM SATELLITE TV, are the CPI Power Bundle, STAR Channels, the Knowledge Channel, Solar Sports, and ANIMAX. Other than these, they're available on other CATV providers.

The Sky Cable Gold only channels to date are channels from 36 to 40 only. There are there other channels with gold designations like Animax and some STAR and CPI channels in the Channel Guide Table. What's the deal with this? Are these channels converting to Gold soon? Let me (and other Wikipedians) know about this 'news' by putting it in the article.

Please correct them soon. Sorry, the code for the table looked too technical so I can't edit it myself. This is the least I can do.

'Nother thing. Do you all mind if I correct the classification of the Cable Digest section? It has Tagalog words on it that some may not understand angd the classification is a bit messy. I hope all of you don't mind.

That is all. Headin' out!

RAI International

I want to add RAI International, an Italian channel in Gold and Platinum packages on channel 79 effective July 1st. I am so happy to see RAI. I saw RAI sometimes during vacations and outings with my parents. The head of the company can read and accept its offer from my e-mail. - ApprenticeFan - 06:46 am June 14, 2006 (Manila time)

Why is the channel guide even here? Wikipedia is not a directory and I think this would qualify as a directory. --Woohookitty(meow) 03:23, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

SkyCable Manitoba

There is an MMDS service in Manitoba, Canada also called SkyCable. Just would like to create a disambiguation page that can list both.

On Predicted channels

I have made a Predicted channels section on this article. Please put the channels not yet available on SkyCable there, and don't put them on the Channel listing section. Just for the order of this article.

Thank you. PinoiBIGscientian 10:43, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Please block vandals

Can someone with administrative power lock this article up such that only registered users can edit this article? There are some non-registered users (with IP addresses 125.212.119.58, 202.78.76.71, 210.213.67.235, 203.215.121.34, and 210.213.69.100, just to name a few) that keep putting extra unavailable channels on the Channel list by Genre section. There is a Predicted channels section already provided for non-available channels, and yet they still put these channels on the channel list section. I may have to provide a separate article just for the enumeration of the channels for easier apprehension.

Please also apprehend the IP addresses I just enumerated so they won't do this kind of vandalism again. Thank you. --PinoiBIGscientian 00:35, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

Removal of Solar channels

Starting January 1, 2008, all channels of Solar Entertainment Corporation will be remove from this cable company and these programs are aired on all 6 channels made by Solar:

Source from this page:

Greetings from Solar Entertainment Corporation!

We would like to provide everyone with updates on recent developments in the area of programming, such as key acquisitions, telecast policy and business initiatives. Aside from having the rights to ALL Manny Pacquiao fights and the NBA games we also continue to have exclusive rights to many of the best properties for our sports and entertainment channels.

Moving toward the last quarter of 2007 and into the New Year, We are happy to announce the following:

1. Solar has entered into agreement with the International Olympics Committee (IOC) covering all Exclusive Broadcast Rights including Free TV, Basic Cable, satellite, mobile television, pay television, closed-circuit television and internet television for the following:

Next year, 8/08/08, Solar will be bringing to the Philippines an unprecedented number of hours of various Olympic sports through Pay Per View, Closed Circuit, RPN, Solar Sports, Basketball TV, ETC and 2nd Avenue from Beijing. In addition, Solar will be sending its production crew to Beijing to cover the participation of the Philippines at the Games.

2. To continue our ability to deliver to our valued clients the most current entertainment programming, Solar has secured multi-year volume deals with major studios and production companies including the following:

  • NBC-Universal Television
  • Warner Brothers International Television
  • Fox Television
  • CBS-Paramount

The deals give Solar first choice of selection over all new products and properties from the studios and provide our cable affiliates the assurance that all hit series such as 24, Heroes plus the new series from the 2007 production slate will exclusively have its premieres and first telecast window on Solar's Channels over our competition.

Renewed hit series for the season are the following:

Recently acquired for telecast this next few months are the following:

And from the new television season in the U.S., the new series we have acquired are the ff:

3. The most exciting news for all our clients and agencies which we would like to share with you, coinciding with the start of the new Fall Season this October, 2007, in the United States, Solar will be scheduling series such as Heroes, 24, Prison Break, Sarah Connors Chronicles and Bionic Woman, on a day and date basis with the US telecast schedule.

This means, instead of waiting for the inevitable delay due to tape shipment and to counter the illegal downloading of content on the internet, cable viewers can now watch these series at the same time as the American viewers. This dramatic scheduling innovation will surely add more value to their viewing experiences.

Of course, the current world class sports properties will continue including the FIBA games, U.S. NCAA, Collegiate Champions League, PBL games, French Open Tennis, Ultimate Fighting Championship, Bundes Liga, La Liga, the NFL and PGA Golf Tour.

Creative Programs, Incorporated (CPI) is the cable television production company of ABS-CBN. It currently owns, operates, and distributes the cable channels MYX, Lifestyle Network, HERO TV, and Cinema One. They are also the distributors of 24/7 live streaming channels of the ABS-CBN-produced reality shows Pinoy Big Brother and Pinoy Dream Academy. All of these channels are made available in over 250 cable operators around the Philippines under the CPI Power Bundle. It is one of two broadcasting companies that locally produces cable TV channels in the Philippines, the other being Solar Entertainment.

Velvet will be air E! programs starting next year.

Balls, Maxxx and Velvet are all created by CPI.

I'll resend to AETN Network Asia via e-mail by late 2008 to mid 2009 (extended) if all of these channels may have a contract to sign them. If SkyCable will agree the contract. 121.97.103.221 (talk) 12:52, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

i guess you're having a wrong idea about the technicalities on the channels... i think the proper procedure is you E-MAIL the cable company and if there's a BIG demand the channel then THEY (SkyCable) will be the one who will try to negotiate to get those channels...
that is the reason why Global Destiny is now airing History Channel and will be airing Crime & Investigation & Biography Channel next week...

Somebody what happen why to put the future channel like Skycable, Global Destiny, Cablelink, Dream Satellite TV and Cignal Digital TV to put future channel in respective article. Honesty i try to removed the future channel in each article except SkyCable does not have any announcement nor press release as part of the channel line up. I strongly disagree to include the future channels due to vaild reason to protect the integrity of the any cable and DTH provider in the Philippies. Those aannoying IP user to put any invented channel like WB, Surdance channel, Tru Channel among other. I try to scan any of the skycable website or any asian cable news magazine however, none of these channels are pruely not true at all except FOX TV Asia are now promoting this channel in any STAR TV and Fox Channels Asia to encourage the viewers to subscribe the channel. Some IP user user use the names of the Philippines actress like Marian Rivera, Kim Chui, Sarah Geronimo among other to include as a program channels to destroy the integrity of the said actress and even the Cable company itself. Offical website / Channel directory

All the detail should be on an official website – not here. I do not see any encyclopedic reason to have a "Channel line-up" list, but in particular many of the notes contained in that list are totally inappropriate here. Wikipedia is not the place to say "Analog subscribers may experience interference". Further, the "Will be replaced with..." notes are just company promotion and they fail WP:CRYSTAL. I would normally have removed them all, but I see that June 1 is the expected date, so it may be pointless to yank them now. However, my opinion is that the list should be deleted, and while we are waiting for that to happen, all the business detail should be removed as unsourced and inappropriate. Articles should be based on reliable secondary sources. Johnuniq (talk) 10:26, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

tags remain durring discussions

IP, the "logic" in your edit summaries is fatally flawed. The tags mean that we are not certain about something - ie currently discussing. If we were no longer discussing we would not need the tag. We would have come to the the conclusion that the content was proper and so removed the tag, or we would have come to the decision the content is improper and remove both the tag and the improper content.Active Banana (talk) 04:31, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

SkyCard Mastercard

Is it ok to include SkyCard Mastercard? Skycable's first credit card with SolidBank. Since its part of Skycable history, it should be included here but still I need feedback from you guys, since i'm not a full pledge Wikipedian. I will also include additional info on SkyCable Digiboxes (SD and HD with gallery) and Smart/Access Card (with gallery). Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.107.75.60 (talk) 15:40, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

Edited version as of November 23

To simplify the SkyCable listing, I edited some of the entries based on actual SD and HD boxes provided by SkyCable, and updated it with more realistic approach based on authentic services. As of this date, its websites can’t source verified information since it is not updated. I hope it is justifiable with Wikipedia rules, if not let the Pros decide.

Update: I guess G8crash3r is a pro but editing the SkyCable page makes no sense. Reverting to old, inconsistent with other entries i.e., StarHub TV, Indovision etc. If SkyCable entries is based on G8crash3r merit. I rest my case :) Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.107.75.60 (talk) 12:10, 22 November 2010 (UTC)

SkyCable channels SHOULDN'T BE REMOVED, why?

First, many articles regarding cable and satellite broadcasting have channel listings, one of them are Freeview in UK, that has channel listings and other information (such as upcoming channels), although it is seperated from the main article. As stated in WP:NOTDIR, "although mention of major events, promotions or historically significant programme lists and schedules MAY BE ACCEPTABLE", so any removal of channel listings are considered vandalism.

SkyCable pulled its plug... Viva Cinema

Hi, I undid your revision due to...

Star TV demanded an increase of programming cost and carry Viva Cinema regardless of Cinema One (formerly Pinoy Blockbuster Channel), as its main competitor. The negotiation bugged down because of SkyCable’s refusal for an increase in channel’s fee and to transmit Viva Cinema in its lineup, as a result Star TV pulled its channels in SkyCable lineup.

New channel realignment on January 2011

Even though announcements have been disseminated regarding channel realignment on January 2011 through respective cable bills and not on its website as a possible source to be cited, we still need verifiable content. According to the statements, Screen Red, CBeebies, and CGE TV will be included to its lineup while Playhouse Disney will move to Gold from Platinum. Webwires 05:19, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

Is ScreenRED included? 143.166.255.63 (talk) 12:23, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
The statements must be verifiable, as of now, no word from their end and still the statement should be treated as "rumors" unless we can cite reference(s). Webwires (talk) 16:22, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
CBeebies was already announced on SkyCable's Official Twitter and Facebook accounts. CgeTV was announced on their official Facebook account and on ABS-CBN's Facebook account as well. An advisory is also shown on Playhouse Disney channel saying that the channel will be available to Gold Subscribers on Channel 38 starting January 15, 2010 as part of the Gold package and will still be available as an ala-carte channel. Kidsco on the other hand will be transferred to Channel 135 and will only be available as an ala-carte channel and will not be included in any SkyCable Gold Package. Information can be verified through SkyCable's Call Center. G8crash3r | Talk 17:33, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
I’m aware of that, but still we cannot cite Twitter and Facebook accounts (read: WP:EL) or the onscreen announcement and conversation with their customer service agent as reference, as for CGE TV, I've already cited it with a reference linking back to their official websites. There's no good in rushing (referring to vandalism), we can wait. :) Thanks. Webwires (talk) 19:17, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

Standardize channel lineup/listings

In order to standardize the channel lineup/listings and conforms to other Wikipage, I’m proposing to eliminate all call numbers but not limited to networks incorporated its call numbers to its names i,e. Studio 23, Net 25, TV5; radio frequencies (i.e. VLF, VHF, UHF), call names; same with naming channels to Southeast Asia, Asia or the Philippines, it is pretty obvious that channels transmitting here either in Asia or Philippine feeds. Consequently these items are already superfluous and redundant because it is already placed in their respective Wikipage.

The reason the call numbers are included is because most of the networks have a separate wiki page for the Network and its call number, eg: DWAC-TV is different from Studio 23. Another thing, indicating both the call number and the network page is already being used with most major pay-tv companies in the Philippines, eg: Global Destiny Cable, Dream Satellite TV, G Sat and Cignal Digital TV. G8crash3r | Talk 11:11, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
The reason why I’m suggesting to eliminate the call numbers are, Wikipedia is viewed in general and seeing UHF 23 and the likes are irrelevant to viewing public as it may seems its a local channel originating from the country they are viewing it. Like other cable companies Wikipage excluding Philippine-based companies, local channels are named excluding its call numbers etc. It is pretty obvious that the Wikipages of i.e. Global Destiny Cable, Dream Satellite TV etc. are edited by the same people and for apparent reason it will result the similar entries. The standardization will conforms to international cable companies Wikipage and this will not single out SkyCable, it will also take effect on previously mentioned Philippine-based cable companies. Webwires (Talk) 14:43, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

In addition, I’m also suggesting to rename Plan 450 to “Plus” as this will fall under advertising (read: WP:SOAPS). Currently, SkyCable postpaid plans are Select, 280, Plus, 499, Max, Silver, Gold, Platinum, HD and premium/pay-per-view subscriptions while its prepaid plans are named Silver Prepaid in 3, 15, 30 days while its SelectPlus Prepaid denominated also in 3, 15 and 30 days.

WP:SOAPS is about soap operas, is that really your reference. Plan 450 is also fine since it refers to the minimum package the channel is included, similar to Cignal Digital TV's page and AT&T U-verse channel line-up page. G8crash3r | Talk 11:11, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
I stand corrected, it should be Wikipedia:Advertising. Since the plan corresponding to 450 is Plus, it should be appropriate to use “Plus” instead the monetary value of 450. As you mentioned, Cignal Digital TV and G Sat, all their packages are named on their respective plans plus the corresponding numeric value. Nowhere in their Wikipages they mentioned any monetary value same with AT&T U-verse. Webwires (Talk) 14:43, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

If no one contests or disagrees, changes will take effect as soon as possible. Thanks. Webwires (Talk) 06:45, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

While you are addressing the tables, you may wish to also begin implementing the results of this discussion [1] to remove the channel numbers. We are not here to be a TV guide for cable channels. That is there responsibility. Active Banana (bananaphone 17:06, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

SkyCable to Sky

Since its name change, from Central CATV Inc. to SkyCable Corporation, it uses Sky for its company and product trademark, while the latter offers not only cable TV but also into broadband Internet and VoIP thus using SkyCable logo with “cable” is inappropriate. Thanks :) Webwires (talk) 07:00, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

I think it would be better if the SkyCable logo is used since the page itself is about the SkyCable cable tv service and not the company as a whole. G8crash3r | Talk 10:55, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
Ok, this one I agree. Cheers! :) Webwires (talk) 14:34, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

Article too much commercialized

Tagging the article for deletion to avoid conflicts with WikiPolicies and to prevent Wikipage to be a medium for advertising a cable tv company. G8crash3r | Talk 21:34, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

I think it is already been resolved long time ago, the decision of the discussion was "KEEP" see "DirecTV Channels" and "XM Satellite Radio Channels" to name a few (I can link back other consensus if this are not enough) and I don't want to contest it again and again. Cheers! :) Webwires (Talk) 09:14, 24 December 2010 (UTC)

Dispute Again

SkyCable needs additional references or sources for verification: In due time references will be cited; it’s a work in progress. In defense, I started contributing in SkyCable Wikipage only this month (December), back then most entries lack citations, which can be done by other Wikipedian.

It is written like an advertisement and needs to be rewritten from a neutral point of view and may require general cleanup to meet Wikipedia’s quality standards: My points is, instead of tagging Wikipage of such, why not in our own effort try to rewrite the articles in a neutral point of view. If I have the same privilege to flag certain articles, it is better for me to look into the articles and rewrite it by myself and not ask somebody to do, which is also my responsibility as Wikipedian. I am not contesting anybody’s decision but it would be valuable for all of us if we would take time. It is so much easy to flag, tag etc.

I think “3RR” and a “Discuss first" rule was already violated, since there is no consensus reached, refrain from doing such. Again, all articles here can be edited. I agree with Phil Bridger. I strongly contest speedy deletion and if it contains promotional content, if any, and as Wikipedian it can be fixed by rewriting it. Webwires (talk) 01:10, 24 December 2010 (UTC)

Point is - the tags remain ON until they have been addressed. Active Banana (bananaphone 18:56, 3 January 2011 (UTC)

Future channels/CAMANA listings

Hi, it is irrelevant to include the list of future channels if you don't have any references to be cited or back up your edits. Please be considerate, don’t do some edit just for the heck of it. The “Company Timeline” was already tagged Unreferenced Section and Trivia, if you want to help, try to cite references. Also, the lineup covers Metropolitan Manila only. If you want to include CAMANAVA, cite reliable sources and use your Wiki names and not your respective IPs, from now on, all edits from IP addresses without proper and reliable references will be reverted. Thanks. Webwires (talk) 04:53, 25 December 2010 (UTC)

Discovery HD World differs from Discovery World HD

Hi, been reverting the edits for quite some time now on Discovery World HD. For the information of all, Discovery World HD’s broadcast area is in Canada while Discovery HD World, which Sky Cable carries on its HD platform (that I’m currently subscribed to) uses the Australian Feed. Thanks. Webwires (talk) 05:17, 25 December 2010 (UTC)

Adding AksyonTV on channel line-up

Please do not add information about AksyonTV on the future channel line-up. Please provide source if you need to add that channel. Thanks. ApprenticeFan work 12:03, 1 April 2011 (UTC)

Hi, I added AksyonTV on channel 61 as 'Note' in reference to the official announcement of SkyCable via Twitter. Since we cannot cite Twitter or any social-networking site but under WP:CRYSTAL, it is permissible in Item No. 1 which states...Individual scheduled or expected future events should only be included if the event is notable and almost certain to take place. I will also add Aksyon TV on the ‘Company timeline’ but will add ‘citations for verification’ tag until such time we can cite reliable references. Tag will be removed overtime. Thanks. Fox Family Movies, tvN, KIX and Thrill (new channels)

Again, even though there are likely new channels (Fox Family Movies, tvN, KIX and Thrill via Creative Programs, Inc.) in the offing and to prevent misrepresentation, all entries should be backed up by reliable sources. Thanks. Webwires (talk) 11:47, 19 April 2011 (UTC)

Manila Jockey Club or SLBN

SkyCable list it as Manila Jockey Club but according to its logo, it's called SLBN. Anyone have any information about this particular channel? It's operating hours, program information, or is it the same one on Global Destiny where there's only a broadcast every 2 weeks? Do they pay SkyCable or does SkyCable pay them? TJ Reyes 00:48, 20 April 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by TJ Reyes (talkcontribs)

Hi, it should be SLBN or the San Lazaro Broadcasting Network, MJCI or Manila Jockey Club Inc. owns SLBN which broadcast the horse racing. Go ahead with the edit. Thanks. By the way, always use the four tildes to sign your comment. :) Webwires (talk) 02:12, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
I think if you have javascript disabled, regardless of whether you add tildes, the autobot will still regard it as unsigned. Here's a test. I'm signing this one with 4 tildes. TJ Reyes 00:49, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

Hollyckuhno insisting edits from a source, copied word for word.

Sky Cable Corporation

Hi, I am currently working in an article of Sky Cable (the company) but I would need to relegate some informations from this article (especially in the introduction and history section). Please help me out. ---HollycK message 07:23, 2 June 2012 (UTC)

I have already started the article... see Sky Cable Corporation. Now I want to discuss on which text would be relegated from this article to the article of Sky Cable Corporation. ---HollycK message 08:47, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
