Talk:Spire Sports + Entertainment
So..., just putting this out there.
[edit]I find it highly unlikely that Spire Sports + Entertainment is going to be the official entry name for the team. I'm speculating here, but they'll probably have a presser at some point where they announce the actual banner that they'll be racing under. Right now, I've edited the article from it covering the future where the team has hired everyone ad is ready to go racing tomorrow, to the present day based on what we know, that is, an otherwise unnotable talent agency/motorsports consultant that bought a NASCAR charter to become notable.
When said presser happens, obviously the team will be the reason for notability, and thus should focus on that, with the quick mention "oh, by the way, this team is owned by an agency that represents drivers and got sued by a former driver." GhostOfDanGurney (talk) 17:49, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
I’m not well-versed in notablilty for companies, but from what I can tell, the agency part is still going to be the main focus for the company, with the race team being a side venture (they do a lot of music promoting from what I gather). I would not be in favor of renaming the article based on their ventures promoting other drivers/entertainers but would not be opposed to creating a redirect out of whatever the team name is, if there is in fact a different one. - @Willsome: Yeah I see the point. I really don't have a strong opinion, honestly. If the agency in and of itself can pass notability, I think I'd prefer splitting the articles then. If someone had made the article on them before the charter sale was announced, I wouldn't have been rushing over to AfD or anything. Maybe we can try to get some of the music experts over to shed their knowledge on whatever business they have in that industry. GhostOfDanGurney (talk) 18:53, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
