Confirmed Stores SD2[edit]

Someone keeps deleting the stores known to be confirmed by other sources (e.g. planning records, company websites etc) but not officially announce by SD2 themselves. This is quite annoying. Please stop doing it! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.66.89.109 (talk) 10:05, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lists of tenants - unencyclopedic[edit]

There's a long list of stores in this article - editors may wish to have a look at WP:ANC, which advises that articles on shopping centres should not include lists of tenants (as per WP:NOTDIR), "unless such tenants are noteworthy in the context of that particular shopping centre". I'll leave it up to editors who've been active on this page to make any revisions they see fit.--Pondle (talk) 21:34, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the proposal was casting vote move to St. David's Centre, Cardiff, as there is a shopping center with a similar name in Swansea, and in the world many other things named after St.David. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 23:04, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
St. David's CentreSt. David's, Cardiff

  • The name of the shopping centre appears to be simply St David's, not St. David's Centre. The official website has also changed from www.stdavids-shopping.co.uk/ to www.stdavidscardiff.com/ to reflect the change. Seth Whales (talk) 21:01, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Maybe without the comma? - St. David's Cardiff. Welshleprechaun (talk) 21:48, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • "St. David's" by itself sounds like a church, whih it is not. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 22:52, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Do we have WP:RS referring to it as such? 81.111.114.131 (talk) 01:55, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, where is this casting vote? Welshleprechaun (talk) 13:17, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

WP:IAR. Requested moves are not strict binary, straight up/down votes. 81.111.114.131 (talk) 00:32, 13 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The idea of the move was that the shopping centre is no longer called St. David's Centre, it is simple St. David's. There is absolutely no need to disambiguate St. David's Centre to St. David's Centre, Cardiff. I have moved this article to St. David's (Cardiff), as this makes sense, it has been moved back again to St. David's Centre, Cardiff, which does not. I agree with Welshleprechaun, where was the casting vote from? And this is now not an uncontroversial move. Seth Whales (talk) 13:49, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Reverts of non-consensus moves are treated in the same way as uncontroversial moves, and the template at WP:RM generates the edit summary automatically. 81.111.114.131 (talk) 15:35, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
There was no consensus for this move, nor does it make sense. I suggest Anthony Appleyard moves it back so we can resume talks on an appropriate name. Welshleprechaun (talk) 16:53, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
In reply to 81.111.114.131, we have already gone through WP:RM, see above. Again I have to agree with the suggestion by Welshleprechaun, i.e. move it back, so we can resume talks on an appropriate name. Seth Whales (talk) 19:07, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Merge Eastside, Cardiff here?[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the proposal was merge

I think that the Eastside, Cardiff article should be merged and redirected to here. The collection of restaurants and cafes doesn't have any notability of it's own, its just a part of the shopping centre. Dylanfromthenorth (talk) 01:07, 13 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - per nominator. It is not a different part of the city centre, but a wing of the centre, although under its own branding. Welshleprechaun 14:01, 13 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - Agreed....not notable. Seth Whales (talk) 08:28, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The above discussion is preserved as an archive of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

Needs reworking[edit]

This page needs a bit of a rework for encyclopaedic tone and peacock phrasing, I think. No time to work on it now, but I've tagged it. Vashti (talk) 00:57, 21 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Help required[edit]

I'm having problems with the bottom of the Article. For some reason the "References", "Externals links" etc are being squashed. Can you help. SethWhales talk 20:50, 30 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Seth Whales, you didn't properly close the blockquote. I've turned it into a quote template. Primefac (talk) 21:08, 30 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
