"Third generation"[edit]

Sakai says he is third-generation in interviews. This makes little sense for people who are acquainted with "first generation" being born elsewhere and moving to the US (or where have you). Seems like he's using "third-generation" as a synonym for sansei, which represents the offspring of a nisei parent (regardless of place of birth). I have linked this. Dual Nationality[edit]

I don't believe it is possible for Stan Sakai to have both American and Japanese citizenship. As of the 80s when I had a Japanese-American girlfriend, her parents told me they themselves were forced to choose between citizenship of the countries after 20 years of living in the US. Moreover, and more currently, my two-year old son, who now has both Japanese and American citizenships and passports, must choose a citizenship between the two when he is 20. My Japanese wife and I were told this both in English and in Japanese when we registered his birth with the US Embassy. So unless there are special legacy rules from the time of Mr Sakai's birth, he must be one or the other. (Made in DNA (talk) 09:10, 30 April 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Actually, the age at which your children will have to choose is 22. More details at Japanese nationality law. Acidtoyman (talk) 10:01, 2 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Stan was born well before the Nationality Law came into effect. I imagine he had dual nationality prior to that point. Moreover, he could have renounced American citizenship in front of Japanese officials without any effect. GreenReaper (talk) 20:00, 6 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox image[edit]

I think that the previous infobox image was much better than this one. Previous image is from 2006. but his look didn't change much since then (new one is from 2009). On that image he looks at the camera, and we can clearly see his face, while on this newer one he looks at the table, and he's eyes looks closed. Thus I'll put old one back. --Lošmi (talk) 19:13, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Adventures of Nilson Groundthumper and Hermy was redirected here, and had a large amount of content. GreenReaper (talk) 03:56, 24 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
