Band Picture[edit]

Is there a reason that the main image for Steel Panther only has three of the four members? Missing is Sticks Zidinia (Darren Leader), the drummer. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SheldonHelms (talkcontribs) 06:37, 30 May 2017 (UTC)

Restructured the page[edit]

I thought the article was a mess so I rearranged most of it and added the band box on the right side. The article is a bit skimpy though so if you have something to add don't be afraid to just stick it where it belongs. Cdwillis (talk) 04:52, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

Guest Appearances Citations[edit]

Somebody tagged a bunch of the guest appearances for citations. I sourced all of the ones that I found videos of on and put the others here on the talk page. I think the onstage guests section needed cleaned up anyway. Cdwillis (talk) 04:26, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

== Australia/New Zealadn tours 2012

  • The entry omits the entire New Zealand / Australia tour in September / October 2012, and earlier appearances in Australia in the Soundwave Festival tour earlier in 2012 (do not have the dates, sorry). — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 04:22, 28 November 2012 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion Disputed[edit]

This article was tagged for speedy deletion minutes after its creation. (I believe this is part of the rampant bullshit deletionist campaign plaguing Wikipedia. This is the only time I will mention that). I have added links to articles on them and their website. They sell out shows regularly and attract a crowd of celebrity guests. They've been featured on the cover of All Access Magazine, an L.A. print mag about local live music. They also are said to have won the award for "Best Tribute Band" by that magazine in their annual music awards, but I can't find a listing of the awards anywhere, other than to notice that the awards (and that category) do exist [1], so I cited their website, on which I found the claim. If anyone requires further documentation, google "metal skool - there's 60,200 sources for you. ---Matthew Cieplak (talk) (edits) 09:26, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

Album Cover image (fair use?)[edit]

I added the band's album cover as the band image, knowing full well that many low-res album covers appear on WP. However, I know someone's going to say it's not fair use because it doesn't illustrate the album in question. Well there is no article for the album. Make one yourself if it means that much to you. I looked around for decent copyright-free images of the band and couldn't find any except some terrible cameraphone shots. Tomorrow I'll find some official promo materials that we can use fairly, in the abscence of non-fair-use stuff. If anyone else wants to take a crack, there's a few thousand photos here, most of which seem to be copyrighted explicitly. ---Matthew Cieplak (talk) (edits) 10:16, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

I maintain and give photo credit to the photographers (or myself, Albert R.) for the various Metal Skool photo albums. Contact the credited person, or me at if you'd like to use a photo.
There is now an article for the album Hole Patrol. I was wondering if we should use that image for the album article, what do you think? JimboV1 (talk) 09:33, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

In July, 2011, Steel Panther wrote on their Facebook page "IT'S CUMMING! ROCKTOBER 18TH!" which implies that the new album will be released on October 18, 2011.

It was evident.

Other members[edit]

I don't know if this is the case for everyone, but I know for a fact that Michael Diamond and Michael Starr are not the same person. I spoke to "Michael Diamond" when metal shop was playing one night a week at the House of Blues in Las Vegas in 2005. He mentioned that his other gig was in Kiss tribute band Black Diamond. I'm not 100% certain but I'm pretty sure he was the Gene in that band. Meanwhile across town, "Michael Starr" was busy with his Van Halen band Atomic Punks. It's also likely that the guitarist in SP was not Satchel at that time, as he was also in Atomic Punks (though he could have been doing both.)

(I verify this info to be true based upon my personal experience in Las Vegas June-July 2005. I witness a full Metal Shop show upstairs at the House of Blues in Mandalay Bay Las Vegas, and I witnessed 2 songs from Atomic Punks at an unknown casino -possibly South Station or something. I had also previously met "Michael Starr" breifly when he was singing for LA Guns.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Phil awesome (talkcontribs) 18:46, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

NPOV template on article[edit]

I trimmed out some stuff, if it looks good enough, someone else can remove the template. I wasn't sure which parts were being referenced by the claim or who was making those edits, so I just targeted ugly formatting or things generally unacceptable on Wikipedia articles. Travis Haley[edit]

Why does the search term "Travis Haley" redirect to Steel Panther? Im trying to do an article on the (other) Travis Haley from Magpul now with HSP, any insight would help. Thanks. Pbolton946 (talk) 22:45, 20 April 2014 (UTC)

Glam metal[edit]

Any one else feel like glam metal is not the right term for this band's sound? They dress like the New York Dolls but their sound is most definitely not glam metal. — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 04:40, 5 August 2014 (UTC)

yes it should be called uber glam or more glam than glam. or maybe "music you wish you never heard" — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 22:45, 18 October 2014 (UTC)

You guys just don't get laid enough - g.tinsley

Personally, I expected the description to be "Metal parody band." Their personae and lyrics suggest that they're riding the line between being a real band, and being a parody of everything that hair bands of the 80s exhibited (e.g., obsession with anonymous sex, faux narcissism, elicit drug and alcohol use, absurd costumes and make-up, etc.). — Preceding unsigned comment added by SheldonHelms (talkcontribs) 06:40, 30 May 2017 (UTC)
