Etymology?

[edit]

== Hi. As a child I always understood "kaki lima" carts and vendors to be named not after the "five foot" walkways, but the physical properties of the street food carts themselves - two wheels and three post legs, for "five feet". No sources on this, and I was a kid, but the source provided after this claim - [2], the Jakarta Post article "Most popular 'kaki lima' in Jakarta - offers no comment re etymology. Perhaps an authoritative source (possibly in Bahasa Indonesia) could be located for this claim.

As is, I have added a citation needed tag to the article.
