Contested deletion
[edit]This page should not be speedy deleted because there is plentiful evidence that Kalisch is notable. Indeed, there is a lengthy article about him on the German Wikipedia: [1]. If he's notable enough for a German article, he's notable enough for an English one. I can't read German, but it would be nice if someone who can could translate that article and use it to improve this one. --Difluoroethene (talk) 16:21, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

It's a joke? This theologian is very important for critical islamic studies. And he is very famous, not only in universities, but in the world of religious critical studies. Is wikipedia held by integrist muslims now? Sorry for my English, I'm an European. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A01:E35:8A8D:FE80:551B:CF01:E572:A2B4 (talk) 01:44, 30 March 2015 (UTC)
"Islam jurisprudence"
[edit]There is no such subject of study at German universities. His is an ordinary law degree.
To make a lawyer professor of Islamic studies is like making a lawyer, whose doctor's thesis' subject was defects liability in horse trade, a professor of veterinary science. Besides, he hasn't got a postdoctoral lecture qualification.
This article ought to remain because it shows how much German academia has succumbed to Islam already. (Kalisch's recent defection from Islam is a different matter altogether.)
