I have translated the article into German, but I have problems with this paragraph: "He was a Koshu style strategy Instructor." Could somebody explain that to me? What did he do? --Franczeska 17:36, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He was an expert in the military tactics of the Koshu Naganuma Style and was an instructor of military tactics. Seven 21:29, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Akebono incident

[edit]

The text incorrectly said that this incident was about an Aizu retaininer accidentally killing a Nagato (samurai). What actually happened is described in the Japanese Wikipedia article ja:明保野亭事件 (Akebono restarant incident). The Shinsengumi, led by Takeda, were investigating the restaurant. It was the kind of place frequented by anti-bakufu samurai from Nagato (=Chōshū). There was a fight and a 21-year-old Aizu retainer named Shiba Tsukasa wounded a samurai. But this samurai was from Tosa, not Nagato. The samurai was ordered by Tosa to commit seppuku for misconduct. This led to tensions between Aizu and Tosa. Shiba's action had been declared legal, but to resolve the standoff between Aizu and Tosa, he offered to commit seppuku himself, and did. – Margin1522 (talk) 04:24, 12 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
