"2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict" section is a problem
[edit]The 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict subsection of the Biography is a problem.
FIRST, it was a horribly unreadable glob of text until I (just now) broke it out into separate paragraphs and subsections (date headers, in place of the boldfaced dates).
But that leaves the newly-created small paragraphs separated from the sole reference footnotes, at the ends of the globs. I've attempted to resolve this by duplicating that reference citation at the start of the text it had been attached to, when it was all one paragraph, though that's a bit dicey by Wikipedia traditions.
SECOND, this subsection appears to be large chunks of text directly copied, verbatim, from commercial or institutional media sources. If so, this may violate copyright law. It may need to be paraphrased, to be legal.
THIRD, this subsection, as it's name implies, appears to be about the "2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict" -- and not about Mr. Rod-Larsen (the supposed subejct of this article). While he is quoted extensively, he is quoted about the event -- not about himself, much.
This article is supposed to be about him. Much of this material, apparently, belongs in a separate article about the 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict. and probably should be moved there, carefully -- while at least leaving enough info in this article to clarify Mr. Larsen's role in these affairs.
FOURTH, this section, for its size and significance, seems very weakly sourced -- and might benefit from additional sources.
FIFTH, sourcing a large block of the text in this article by quoting only a newspaper from the region -- in this case, the Israeli newspaeper Ha'aretz -- is problematic, as it severely undermines the chance of neutrality, required by WP:NPOV.
Wikipedia articles are not supposed to be partial or biased in their sourcing.
It is simply not realistic to think that Israeli or Palestinian newspapers (or Arab newspapers, for that matter) are likely to be reasonably neutral, objective sources on this subject.
If they are to be cited as a reference, then also cite an opposing source -- and make sure that the Wikipedia article either confines itself to statements validated by references from both sides of the conflict -- or present the positions of both sides, separately, with corresponding references.

- @Penlite: This turned up on one of my grammar lists, and I also noticed the copyright violation from CNN. I've removed it, leaving only a short quote chosen more or less randomly. -- John of Reading (talk) 16:13, 8 November 2017 (UTC)

One controversial loan of money
[edit]As of 23 October 2020 Norwegian news media wrote that it did not know what the specific reason was that Rød-Larsen came to owe 130,000 dollars. (This version [1] writes about the loan.) 89.8.190.60 (talk) 13:53, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
