Under "cultural references" it is mentioned that Ted wears a sweater with the flag of the swiss city of Geneva on it. Actually it is not the flag, but the coat of arms (or, to be really exact, part of it, namely the shield) that is displayed on Ted's sweater. It is this coat of arms (or the shield, respectively) that is used as the city emblem of the city of Geneva as well as the canton emblem of the canton of Geneva. Although I really tried I could not find an unmistakable translation of the german word "WAPPEN", but let me put it this way: Ted's sweater displays the STADTWAPPEN (city ...) of the city of geneva and the KANTONSWAPPEN (canton ...) of the canton of Geneva.
