Disambig[edit]

I might as well mention that a search on IMDB for "The End" reveals a whole slew of films, so it's quite likely that this page's content will eventually be moved to "The End (1978 film)" and a disambiguation page put in its place. One of them (1995) was nominated for an Oscar, too. Esn 07:19, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The End (film)The End (1978 film) – Although the 1978 film's article is the most trafficked of the three films with articles, its popularity is not so lopsided that it deserves to remain at the simpler disambiguation. The title should be fully disambiguated from the other films. ShelfSkewed Talk 14:52, 13 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support; partial disambiguation is to be avoided except perhaps in the most extreme cases. Powers T 16:02, 13 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support as I believe that for the key term, if no film is a primary topic, and there is more than one film, all films should be disambiguated by release year. For example, I think Psycho (film) should be at Psycho (1960 film), but that discussion has already been hashed out. :) In essence, I do not endorse hierarchies; beyond a single primary topic, all secondary topics should be disambiguated from each other. • Support per nom. If this isn't the primary topic of "The End", then it should have properly disambiguation, not ambiguous disambiguation -- 70.24.247.127 (talk) 05:41, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright violation[edit]

This edit, 6 years ago, introduced a copyright violation from the source it cites. The following text was copied verbatim: "...Wendell Sonny Lawson (Burt Reynolds) is informed by his doctor that he's dying from..."; "Attempting to resolve a few issues with ex-wife Mary Ellen (Sally Field), daughter Julie (Kristy McNichol), and his parents (Myrna Loy and Pat O'Brien), Lawson finds that they're all too absorbed in their own problems to pay him any attention."

Some of the rest added after that seems to be a violation from a now dead source. I'm hard-pressed to think of anything but a promotional source that would end a summary for "The End" with "For one -- or both -- men, this could be The End." As a result, I am reverting the plot summary to its state before the known copyvio: "... if an older non-infringing version of the page exists, you should revert the page to that version." WP:DCV

If anyone would like to flesh this bare bones summary out, feel free to do so. - SummerPhDv2.0 15:43, 19 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
