Moved as proposed. After extended time for discussion, there is consensus for the proposal. There is general consensus that the pageview ratio relative to the obscurity of the articles yields no primary topic. BD2412 T 23:15, 6 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

– The Swedish band, which was active from 1963 to 1969, does not appear to have greater historical notability than the German band which has been active for 30 years (since 1991). Shanes currently redirects to the Swedish band, but both Shanes and The Shanes should redirect to the all-inclusive Shane disambiguation page where the two bands are already listed. — Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 23:30, 18 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support Neither band has claim to primariness here, and the rename titles are set up properly. Chubbles (talk) 15:22, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. The Swedish band article has twice as many pageviews as the polka band article, making it WP:PRIMARYTOPIC by usage, and the Swedish band had a number of top ten singles, whereas the polka band appears barely WP:NOTABLE, so long-term significance goes to the Swedish band article as well. Regardless, "The Shanes" should not get subsumed into Shane per WP:THE and WP:PLURALPT - it's a separate topic from "Shane". So, oppose per WP:TWODABS as well. • Support obviously helpful to anyone trying to find the Swedish band. In ictu oculi (talk) 17:41, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Twice as many pageviews when both are highly obscure = no primary to me. -- King of ♥ 03:06, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. No primary topic. Also, the pageview comparison is much more mixed when looking over a longer timeframe. Adumbrativus (talk) 04:11, 24 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
