Candyland
[edit]I think Yummy is the name of that song Candyland, i mean, they both have pharrel on there...i think there's no candyland...LuverOfLuv 22:33, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
- candyland sounds way different from yummy so i think it's a leftover track...LuverOfLuv 01:48, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
CANDYLAND was an unrealesed song from the album. Gwen played a demo sample of it at her 2005 LAMB fashion show. It isn't the same song as Yummy, it is totally different. You can look on ASCAP and see the song registered. It was written by her and Pharrel and produced by The Neptunes. She put Breakin' Up on the album instead of this song (Candyland). She said so in a webisode that used to be posted on her website. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.249.64.163 (talk) 09:32, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
Track listing
[edit]Finally, now everybody stop messing around w/the tracklisting... LuverOfLuv 20:48, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Where's the song Sweet Escape featuring Akon...the tracklisting is not confirmed, it's only confirmed by Gwen Stefani fansites...that's not reliable. LuverOfLuv 21:47, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
- I'm as anxious to get this album as some others, but I think it's unnecessary to change the track listing multiple times a day. There are evidently going to be many records on this album, but speculation is generally frowned upon and sources are required for the unconfirmed tracks. Thanks. Velten 23:54, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
The track "The Sweet Escape" was composed by Gwen Stefani, Aliaune Thiam and Giorgio Tuinfort. It says so on the All Music Guide's website. You can read it here: http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:w9j9kectyq7x
I'm kinda Wikitarded, so I'm not sure where this goes... but what is the most popular song on this album? Is there a site to look it up at? Please format this entry so it meets all the wiki standards.
Parental Advisory Label
[edit]How come this album got a Parental Advisory Label? I heard all of the track and there are only a few 'shit' in the whole album... compare this to Love.Angel.Music.Baby, the track "Hollaback Girl even got 37 'shit'... It's so confusing.. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Randyrusli (talk • contribs) 16:52, 4 December 2006 (UTC).
Um, I know in "Yummy" Pharrell says the n-word, so maybe that's the reason. I agree, I've only heard one shit.--Lizzie 22:40, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
"This album carries a Parental Advisory label, the first of her career with and without No Doubt." Um, Boom Box and the Rock Steady Live DVD have Parental Advisory Labels on them, as does the disc for the Hollaback Girl single... So this is not he the first one in Gwen's career; it's her fourth. Also, The Sweet Escape carries a Parental Advisory Label most likely because there was some hell raised over the last album not getting one. And actually, "shit" is said MANY times on the track "Don't Get It Twisted," not just once.--R_Landgren 18:38, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
I doubt there ever was a Parental advisory copy. I've been looking for one with the label for the past few days -24.92.43.153 23:36, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
I think she says the f word in "Orange County Girl". -The preceding unsigned comment was added by 142.162.140.113 (talk • contribs) 16:32, 10 December 2006 (UTC).
Yeah, she does say 'shit' a ton of times in Don't Get it Twisted. Also, Yummy contains sexual-like content. Flourescent might, I can't tell. Pharrell says the N word twice, and Orange County Girl has the word 'fuck' once. The label seems appropriate to me, but I've ignored it since I bought the album. Øřêōş 19:36, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
She says "This F***in sH*t is bananas" in one of the songs

Some Positive Reviews?
[edit]There are only negative reviews listed here ... how 'bout some good ones? Billboard and Amazon both gave it positive, better-than-LAMB reviews. I think it's a little slanted to only give it bad reviews.
I think it's very slanted. It says the reviews were "mixed", but then it goes on to list three bad ones. That does more harm than good. Harvard Birdman 19:43, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
Because this page is protected I can't upload this review myself, but here's the link to Billboard's (http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/content_display/reviews/albums/e3i6d42c25ff2b07d3ac43d1511402faf70) and AMG's (http://www.amazon.com/Sweet-Escape-Gwen-Stefani/dp/B000JJRIN4/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/105-6639956-3851639?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1184273483&sr=8-1).
Chart Trajectories

#14
[edit]Why has this album been glued to #14 for three weeks in a row?? Fishy!!! PatrickJ83 20:11, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
It's since dropped down to the mid-20's, but at any rate it has now sold 737,000 (http://billboard.com/bbcom/ask_bb/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003534638). That should be updated on this page ... I can't do it because I'm not a registered user.
Colombian Albums Charts: The Sweet Escape debuted in the albums charts at #43 and this week is at #123. "Wind it Up" was never released as a single in Colombia, and "The Sweet Escape" (Song) was released in january 27th,2007. http://www.americatop100.com/noticias/viewtopic.php?t=8331&sid=4a3d168c6e177b3a79c3927c96f71aad

[edit]Does Wonderful Life feature Martin Gore and should this be added to the tracklisting? Also is it just me or should Angelo Moore (Flourescent) and Tim Rice-Oxley (Early Winter) be added? Connor oc 20:06, 15 February 2007
Cover Art
[edit]I think there should be a section discussing the cover art and the art in the front cover leaflet thingy too... Gwen has talked in interviews about how the pcitures represent different emotions. 80.41.114.64 19:21, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

- Many albums do this. For example almost every track from Rihanna's Good Girl Gone bad have been getting airplay and dance play. Hate That I Love You has even entered the top 100 on Mediabase, but it hasn't been released yet. The only tracks to be mentioned are Umbrella, Shut Up and Drive, and Don't Stop the Music. - Yes, you are right and we all know that the album has sold moe than 3 million albums worldwide. But, we can't expect the visitors to add all the numbers. The source which says that Love.Angel.Music.Baby sold 7 million copies worldwide clearly mentions the number 7 million. Therefore, we nee a similar source for The Sweet Escape too. Next Single?

Why are sweets escapes sales so lowww?????
[edit]Shouldnt we find out or smthng why the sweet escape salesare so desperately so low!? i mean 2million for a star like gwen stefani is redicilous! mariah TEOM has sold almost 11 million and when she was at the start of her career her albums were selling 30 and 25 millions!!!!why doesnt gwen achieve these sales also. It's really weird 'cause the singles from the album are enjoying astonishing succes while the album itself struggles to sell2 millions (actual sales by mine opinion are 1.65 million but anyway, i guess that im wrong counting all countries i guess that it has sold over 2 millions). anyway... why does that happen. Has anyone got a logical explanation for all this!!!! im really curious 2 know...
- Now days everything is digital. Also people dont want to spend complete money on albums coz they feel that in an album, out of ten only four songs are good. So everyone buy the singles through the sites. That is why the single sales of the album are brilliant. The Sweet Escape song's single sales are around 5 million. It's not happening with The Sweet Escape only. Fergie's solo album has 2 U.S number ones, 1 number 2 and one number 4 single. Yet the album sales is only 3 million. It's great to know that Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake and Carrie Underwood and Nickelback have been able to cross 6 million.User:Luxurious.gaurav
- Just because an album hasn't made 2 million sales domestically, doesn't mean it hasn't sold 2 million copies. Anyway, it's not selling that well because it's not that good, and nor was LAMB. LAMB had a small handfull of very popular songs with mostly oversynthecised songs and was overrated until people realised the album was a poor album resting on the shoulders of the success of some catchy singles and a strong No Doubt catalogue. This album isn't selling well because people were disappointed by LAMB and the lead single from this hasn't impressed like last time. --lincalinca 09:21, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- It's all because of CD sales failing miserably in the US. Just look at Kelly Clarkson's My December sales. It has only sold 500,000 copies. Breakaway by now, would of almost gone 2x Platinum. Tcatron565 16:55, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

Next single is "Now That You Got it"
[edit]It is a single because she recorded a single version of the song with Damian Marley, his Wiki page said so, too. The CDS has leaked to the internet. Also, you should make a "singles" section, too!
- The Damian Marley article doesn't provide any source for that. Any information on future releases must have a reliable source (see WP:CRYSTAL). 17Drew 04:02, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
Now That You Got It
[edit]Gwen Stefani next single is "Now That You Got It". My cousin and I heard it on the Australia radio after The Sweet Escape Tour in Melbourne. So I think it is her next single.
Explode24 01:34, 3 August 2007 (UTC) (Australian time)
- No, there won't be another single from TSE for at least another 2 months. There's nothing on the label's releases schedule. --lincalinca 09:18, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- Then why did I hear "Now That You Got It" on radio after her tour? And also this other person posted a picture to me that said on it:
"...album includes "Wind It Up", "4 in the Morning", "Now That You Got It" and "The Sweet Escape"... Explode24 19:46, 3 August (UTC) (Australia time)
- That's not always indicative of a Single, even if it's on the cover. A classic example of this would be Woodface by Crowded House. The cover (of my copy) had "Features 'All I Ask' and 'Fatt at Your Feet'", but "All I Ask" was never released as a single, while four other songs from the album were. What made "All I Ask" notable is that it was used on a TV ad here in Australia for AIDS in 1990, but despite coverage and being the first song heard by audiences other than at live concerts, it was never released as a single. Now, all that aside, I looked on the upcoming single releases and there's nothing else slated for this album, according to Interscope and the Sanity music lists (the staff ones, which gives 3 1/2 months). --lincalinca 10:04, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- Well, IF "Now That You Got It" comes out, then we will see what would happen.
OKAI, :) :) :)
Explode24 20:30, 3 August (UTC) (Australian time)
- Shouldn't it have something about it somehwere? A remix of it has been released on vinyl. It might actually be the next single. But, there is still no confirmation. U guess we'll all have to wait until September/October. Tcatron565 16:54, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- Well, guess what wikipedia editors, I heard "Now That You Got It" on the radio again. On Fox FM in Australia while they where interviewing Gwen Stefani in Melbourne on the 3 of August, I am pritty sure it will be the next single but, I will not make a page on it until I have a good sorces. Explode24 20:21, 5 August 2007 (UTC) (Australian time)
- This really isn't new. It's been established that "Now That You Got It" will be the next single; there's an official poster stating that it's one of the singles from the album. Just waiting for a verifiable source before doing anything. 17Drew 10:28, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
- [outdent] See this poster (I think it's a poster). Lincalinca probably misinterpreted your comment to mean that there was just something stating that the album contains those songs and that "Now That You Got It" is, by association, the next single. In fact, it's clearly identified as a single, but that's not a verifiable reference. Plus, there's not too much to write about a song without even a release date, so there's no big loss in waiting for a good reference. 17Drew 10:57, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Explode24 21:11, 5 August 2007 (UTC) (Australian Time)
Why am I being refered to as a "she"? I'm sure my wife would be displeased if your allegation of my gender was correct. The poster you refer to that indicates the song as a single doesn't actually state that. It says "featuring the songs..." (emphasis mine). I'm not saying it's not going to be either a single or the next single even, but there's equal suspicion that another track will be the next, but nothing confirming that it will ever even be released as a single. Many songs that are intended for single release never happen. Due to the lacklustre performance in sales for both the album and its singles (respectively, relating to gwen's prior album and the entire No Doubt catalogue), it's rather likely that things will change. As I said, I get an update of all singles and albums (via the same source used by sanity music australia) to be released for up to 3 months (right now, it's going to about 2 and a half months) and can confirm that as of Friday, it wasn't listed. I'm not saying it won't be, but there's nothing to confirm your suggestion that it is or will be a single. Not in the near future. --lincalinca 11:59, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
- The poster clearly states "featuring the singles", not "featuring the songs". 17Drew 04:22, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
- Lincoln, i feel that your name matches Linda, thus you are being referred as "She". It seems to be an unintended mistake. Luxurious.gaurav 05:51, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
The release of the single is a pure rumour, but a hot topic for discussions on thousand of blog sites. Even sites like Orkut have discussions regarding the song's single release. I think we should constantly have a look at Gwen Stefani's page on Interscope.com. Even the most recent news about her and releases are posted on the site. Let's not be impatient. But the poster is genuine. Luxurious.gaurav 05:49, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
As I said before, I'm sticking to it that "Now That You Got It" is her next single, but as i said before I will not make a WikiPage until there is good enough sorces. Explode24 17:53, 6 August 2007 (UTC) (Australian time)
Well, just to inform all those WikiEditors, that for teh third time I heard "Now That You Got It" on the radio again but on a diffrent radio station (Nova). That was just to inform those WikiEditors that are eager to start the article. Explode24 17:04, 10 August 2007 (UTC) (Australian time)
I know for sure it's the next single, I hear it on the radio all the time. It's all over the internet and she's shooting a video in Bahamas. I'm not a user so can someone please make a page for it. Or at least add it as the next single on 4 In The Morning. Google it to get sources.

I already posted the links to the positive reviews (that's why I said "See Above"). -- UserWhoDoesn'tFeelLikeBecomingRegistered
I saw there were some positive reviews posted, but it looks like they're gone now. Also, the opening review sentence keeps changing from "mixed" to "mixed, but mostly negative" to "mixed" again to the current "mostly negative." Either it should just say "mixed" or have references to show "mostly negative" (and by that I mean you can't just pull out a bunch of negative reviews and say "mostly negative," you have to show that out of all the major reviews it received, most were negative). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.2.71.135 (talk) 18:02, August 29, 2007 (UTC)
- There's now a reference that states that "most every critic in America panned" The Sweet Escape. 17Drew 16:42, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
And that reference, which takes a while to get to that statement, is from an author who clearly has a problem with Gwen anyway, and does not reference his statement. I still think that there should be a reference with a count of some sort. Didn't MetaCritic (I might have that name wrong) give it something like 56/100, which indicates either more positive than negative, or mixed at least. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.2.64.202 (talk) 12:56, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
I mean, if you look at the reviews listed in the box on the upper right of this page, there's a 3/5, B-, 4/5, 4/10, 6.5/10, 2/5, and 3/5. I'd say that's one positive, two negative, and three mixed. Which is not the same as "mostly negative." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.2.64.202 (talk) 12:59, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
- It really doesn't matter if the author of the article likes Stefani's work or not. He makes it clear that most other music critics didn't like the album, and one doesn't need to like the album in order to assess that. It especially doesn't matter that he doesn't reference his statement since he's not writing for Wikipedia, and no reasonable paper includes its references in its publications. You asked for a source that it had mostly negative reviews, and the OC Weekly clearly supports the statement. 17Drew 15:15, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
No, I asked for a count of the reviews. Also, there were positive reviews already posted to this page that have been removed. Again, look at MetaCritic and you'll see it gets a 58/100, which it says is "mixed or average," something that is also obvious when scrolling through its list of 24 major reviews. I find this to be a much better reference than the OC Weekly post. (http://www.metacritic.com/music/artists/stefanigwen/sweetescape?q=sweet%20escape.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.2.71.135 (talk) 18:16, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
17Drew, I see that you keep changing it to "negative" because of the reviews listed on this page. That's ironic, considering you always claim that Wikipedia can't be a reference to itself. (Only a sample of the total reviews are present on this page, but most of that sample being negative is not a justifiable reason to change "mixed" to "negative.") —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.2.64.198 (talk) 16:43, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
- You didn't ask for a count. You said "Either it should just say 'mixed' or have references to show 'mostly negative'". There's a reference saying that the response was mostly negative. So far as I can remember, I haven't removed any positive reviews; the only reviews I would oppose including would be from Amazon.com and any other sites that primarily exist to sell albums. Much of the Metacritic rating is inconsistent with what music critics actually said; if a review is being summed up as "erratic" or "Escape's songwriting is woefully thin", then it's a negative review, even though Metacritic is classifying it as mixed.
- It's been over two weeks since I changed it back to negative, and it's not using Wikipedia as a reference. It's using the reviews themselves as references. Most articles do so: take the featured articles Doolittle (album), Jihad (song), or Enta da Stage as examples. Using an article which mentions how critics themselves reviewed the album is a better meter to use than aggregating the ratings themselves, which often conflict with what the reviews say. 17Drew 03:53, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
That's a crappy argument. MetaCritic lists 9 positive reviews, 12 mixed and 3 negative reviews. Even if you count any review under 50% as negative, you get 9 pos, 6 mixed, and 9 negative. Hmm ... this seems to imply mixed reviews. If you feel like there must be positive reviews on this page in order to state that the reviews were mixed, go ahead and post some (MetaCritic has links, plus Billboard's is listed above). MetaCritic is similar to RottenTomatoes (or do you not trust RT as well?). I still don't see how one reviewer saying "mostly negative" has more weight than, say, actually looking at 24 different major reviews and seeing that they are mixed.
I myself tried to change this to "mixed" reviews several times, using metacritic as a souce...only to have to have it removed soon after doing so...I am very confused, it obviously has mixed reviews? Also, I posted more detail on the worldwide success of Wind It Up, The Sweet Escape, and 4 In The Morning, again with a source...and again, they were quickly removed. Can someone explain to me why this is? Thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tlatito (talk • contribs) 02:20, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
- For your first question, read the above text as this has been discussed here. You second question's answer:- The text you added is about the songs and you have gone too much into detail. The info you added was hugely similar to the info on the songs's article page and it suits there. This article is about the album and a very brief info about the songs release should be mentioned. Something like, ---- was released as the first single. ---- achieved minimal success though it became her forst song to top the ---- chart. You even got into the charting performance and stuff. This is like streching the article unecessarily like a chewing gum. Indianescence (talk) 08:29, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
The reasoning given behind the "mostly negative" reviews is so rediculous...using one journalist saying that as a source, rather than looking at all the actual reviews? So does that mean that if we find an article that says that The Sweet Escape received amazing reviews we can edit the article to "received mostly amazing reviews"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dontgasp (talk • contribs) 09:01, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Your probably anoyed of me but, I think "Now That You Got It" is her next single because it is gaining more, and more Airplay in Australia, and they said on the radio: "...brand new spanking new hit from Gwen Stefani, "Now That You Got It"....." So yeah! Explode24 17:34, 11 August 2007 (UTC) (Australian time)
- At this point, it's definitely the next single. There are sites that already have some information about the music video being filmed. We just need something from a reliable and verifiable source to start the article. Actually, I've already written a brief article with the infobox, lead, categories, and some information about the critical reception, so I can paste that as soon as a source is available. 17Drew 07:39, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- Good, because I'm getting eager to start the article since Gwen Stefani is my favorite singer after all! XD anyway, So does this means that "Now That You Got It" is her single?
I always hear it on the radio! And if shes on tour?, how is she gonna film the video?, does that mean that the video is going to be a live performance of her? Explode24 18:04, 11 August 2007 (UTC) (Australian time)
- This is all i could get through my research. Now That You Got It is confiremed vinyl single. It even has a catalogue number. I will search more. This song is exactly what Summer Love by Justin Timberlake was, a videoless single.
Luxurious.gaurav 12:57, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- So this mean that its not going to be a single, no video, just Airplay? Explode24 14:15, 12 August 2007 (UTC) (Australian time)
- I think for now, yes, it's just getting airplay. Even in my country! I think it should have an article because of Summer Love can have an article, then it would be just for Now That You Got It to have an article too. So Drew! Go ahead and put up the article. We have enough sources of it to be called a single, even if it's a vinyl one. Luxurious.gaurav 06:57, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- Awwwwww, I want there to be a video too! :( I wreakon shes going to make a vidoe after the Tour or during the tour [somehow] Explode24 16:17, 13 August 2007 (UTC) (Australian time)
- I never said it won't have a video, as of now it doesn't. But it is a single. So a wikipage for Now That You Got It gets a green signal from my side. Luxurious.gaurav 06:17, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- Okay Explode24 16:53, 13 August 2007 (UTC) (Australian time)
The song has charted in Colombia too! http://latinmusic.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?zi=1/XJ/Ya&sdn=latinmusic&cdn=entertainment&tm=6&gps=123_9_1268_569&f=00&su=p284.8.150.ip_&tt=14&bt=1&bts=1&zu=http%3A//www.americatop100.com/english/colombia/index.htm Luxurious.gaurav 14:30, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
Now That You Got It (Remix)
[edit]It's been confirmed. August 27, 2007 will be official airplay release for the remix of "Now That You Git It". It will featured Damien. [1] So, of course the article will have to be made now. Tcatron565 19:49, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
Wonderful Life
[edit]Well, for some reason I just have a feeling that "Wonderful Life" is her going to be her 6th single!. Dunno why, but Gwen did say this at her concert: "This is one of my favorites songs from the album, and I want to share it with you all. It's called "Wonderful Life"..." and basicly she starts singing it. You might think I'm weird but i just have a feeling XD! Explode24 14:04, 19 August 2007 (UTC) (Australian time)
Does "Wonderful Life" sample the old Real Life song "Send Me an Angel?" Rwessel 08:35, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
Yes, for this song Gwen makes TSE album.....i think is her 6° single, but don't get it twisted and yummy? -_- i gonna miss your solo albums gwen! pacheco22
Yummy
[edit]With "Yummy" I found these following images: Image 1 and this Image 2. Does this mean this is a single or just a promotion. BatterBean 18:34, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
- As far as i know, Yummy was released long back as a Club Single. Club singles don't chart and are not actually proper singles. They are just vinyls with the track. The image 1 i think is the cover or maybe a fan cover. Luxurious.gaurav 09:36, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

GA pass
[edit]A few notes to improve.
- "left over from L.A.M.B. writing sessions" -> "left over from the L.A.M.B. writing sessions"
- Background section should be in two paragraphs - Second should probably start at "The two produced "Wind It Up", "Orange County Girl", "Yummy", "Breaking Up", and "Candyland" during these sessions..."
- You could replace ref #13 with [2]
- Rename "Credits" to "Personnel" and get a source for it
- "Chart (2007)" table needs a source. There are usually websites that cover each country, for example in Australia there's http://www.australian-charts.com
- Hopefully semi protection can be lifted soon.
- This talk page should be archived soon.

Indie Genre for the sweet escape
[edit]I think the Genres pop/rock and Indie need to be added because of certain songs like wonderful life and Early Winter (Samples) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gwenspride08 (talk • contribs) 16:30, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- I removed the Indie genre. This album does not really fit the Indie profile; especially the tracks you listed: "Wonderful Life" and "Early Winter". --Narcolepticpathos 08:56, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
Early winter IS Indie music and so is wonderful life..indiesish...Im not too fussed if indie should go in the sweet escape ALBUM genre..its just what HAS been discussed and there are sources.Shirlthemanson
- Here is why I believe The Sweet Escape should have an Alternative Rock genre and not the Indie Rock genre. The sometimes common attributes for Indie music are:
- Production is independent from a major record label
- Limited amount of popular 3rd-Party Producers
- Low-fidelity sound
- Minimally produced/refined music (or, music that is recorded/performed with little consideration of it's actual enjoyable listenability. (Example: She Ionizes & Atomizes,Spread Eagle Beagle)
- Uncommon song formations and time signatures (see Math rock).
- The Sweet Escape has Interscope as it's label, several different producers, and Hi Fi recording. But still, can The Sweet Escape, or more specifically, "Wonderful Life" or "Early Winter" be classified as Indie based on it's style? No, however "Early Winter" does use the traditional rock bass guitar and drums with a post-90s melody; this would be best described as Alternative or Alternative Rock. Also, "Wonderful Life" uses several synthetic instruments: keyboard, drum machine, bass (very discrete notes). It's more electronic than rock, although it does sound rather unique. But unique doesn't mean Indie, there's tons of unique music that isn't indie (see Blue Man Group).
- In conclusion, The Sweet Escape should be classified as Alternative Rock, and not Indie Rock. This would also make a bit more sense because Gwen's previous album Love. Angel. Music. Baby. is classified as Alternative. By NO means am I doubting the musical ability of the great Gwen Stefani, I'm trying to make sure everything is accurate (for the sake of Wikipedia). Also, don't undo my revision without a complete and cohesive reason as to why here in the discussion...I mean it! --~(Narcolepticpathos) 05:41, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

Next Single?
[edit]Has anybody heard anything about what her next single might be? Also, was "Yummy" ever released? Genevieve-Tamerlaine (talk) 05:26, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
- Yummy was released as a club single in the US, but not to the radio. --BatterBean (talk) 07:35, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
- What about the next single. I hear people saying that its "Wonderful Life"..... Genevieve-Tamerlaine (talk) 07:54, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
- Rumours are in abundance. If you have an extremely reliable source for Wonderful Life being the next single, then please post it here. Thank you Indianescence (talk) 10:17, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
- I don't think there is any more singles, because she has begun work on her new album with no doubt and plus she is also pregnant. I don't think she'll be doing any music video while she is pregnant. But, it is still possible. --BatterWow (talk) 10:44, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
- If she's finished, thats a good thing because remember when she released "Crash"? No music video, which made it flop. This album is also a big flop, with only 2 of 5 songs hitting the Top 10. Genevieve-Tamerlaine (talk) 20:17, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- I know this page is not meant for this talk but i would like to say that selling around 3 million copies worldwide in this period of extremely low sales is a big achievement. Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Lopez, Kylie Minogue, Enrique Iglesias all sold very poorly. I think the only flop is Now That You Got It. For being hit you don't need to be hit in U.S only. Early Winter has been successful in Europe, another achievement. 4 In the morning garnered more than 2 million UWC points. The Sweet Escape and Wind it up are success stories. I don't think it is a flop. Medium hit. But yes, i don't expect any more singles either. Indianescence (talk) 20:26, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Anybody know if she is done with the album? Genevieve-Tamerlaine (talk) 19:08, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
Kidz Bop
[edit]I would just like to point out that the titular song (Sweet Escape) is featured on an (admittingly old) album of Kidz' Bop, specifically Kidz' Bop 12. I'm sure the listings on that album are located somewhere, but I haven't looked. 69.49.67.164 (talk) 02:31, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
Coverage of composition
[edit]I think this article fails in the criteria of "broad coverage". For a music album, it is important to include information about its musical style and composition/genre etc, yet this article, which is even a GA, does not. I think it needs info related to that. I would have included it myself if it were L.A.M.B, but no matter how much I love Gwen, I just can't create a taste for Escape, so I unfortunately can't. But the nominator (for the GA in the first place) should take this matter up I believe. --WonderBoy1998 (talk) 15:11, 16 September 2013 (UTC)

;Reviewed as start class This is a very well written article with lots of information, but it's missing a personnel section listing all the main musicians (not just Gwen Stefani), notable guest musicians and the main members of the production team. As soon as that's added, let me know and I'll put it up to B class. You may want to try it as a good article candidate after that - I think it's almost good enough.
