Significance

[edit]

It does not take much to notice the significance of Paul to Black history in the U.S. and in Haiti. His name is all over the primary sources even he is seldom the focus of present-day scholarly works. That does not mean, however, that he is not figured in the literature, but that he deserves more attention than what he is given, including, here, in Wikipedia. I suggest we expand this article. Expand Article

[edit]

This article should be expanded and include more information, especially with such an important as Thomas Paul. One way to potentially do this is by describing some of the works - such as social activism and volunteering - done by Thomas Paul's organization. -BryantPol (talk) 03:25, 14 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal & Outline

[edit]

Before I begin with my proposal and outline, I would first like to say that I would appreciate any feedback in regards to my plans. My proposal and outline can be found in my user sandbox by clicking here. Basically, I want to expand this article and organize the information. I will begin by first updating Thomas Paul's profile and the visualization of the article. After this is completed, I will work by adding more sources and deleting the sources which are not linked. I will further research more about his work on Haiti and Prince Hall Masonry to expand these sections, and I will separate all the information regarding his relatives in a different section.

Peer Review

[edit]

The content of this article is now much more substantial; it now provides a much better overview of Thomas Paul’s life and his impact. I especially appreciated that details pertaining to his personal life was also included. Details about his personal life makes the article more well-rounded, and prevents a depiction of Thomas Paul as a distant historical figure; it humanizes him. The bulk of improvements that could be made pertain to general grammar. Careful editing and multiple rounds of proofreading could greatly improve the ease of readability and general professionalism of the article. Isabelle183 (talk) 21:39, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Peer Review

[edit]

I think you did a great job of expanding this article and making edits that make sense in the context of Thomas Paul's life and work. I really thought that the article was well-written and hit on all of the relevant areas. The details regarding Paul's personal life and the specific work he has done as a Pastor was intriguing and well-presented. There is always room for improvement and I think that expanding the scope and making your article more complex with the incorporation of more diverse sources as well as minor edits can improve the overall cohesiveness of the article. Considering the structure can also help as there as a more structured article could make it easier for readers to navigate the information efficiently.Navenp (talk) 01:16, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
