Image copyright problem with File:Hostel2poster.jpg
[edit]The image File:Hostel2poster.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Part of an edit requested by an editor with a conflict of interest has been implemented. Title changed and the monograph added, but the rest is overly promotional. Primefac (talk) 20:02, 20 October 2015 (UTC) |
I work for Rubenstein Communications and I’d like to propose the following updates and additions on behalf of Tim Palen. To mitigate conflict of interest issues, I ask that an editor review and edit accordingly. NinaSpezz (talk) 17:47, 7 October 2015 (UTC)
- Palen’s current title is Chief Brand Officer and President of Worldwide Marketing. I propose rewriting the page’s second sentence and expanding the section to say:
He is Lionsgate's Chief Brand Officer and President of Worldwide Marketing and runs worldwide theatrical marketing across Lionsgate films, Summit Entertainment and other movie labels, including marketing campaigns and strategy, media, creative advertising and digital media initiatives.[1][2] Palen is also responsible for spearheading Lionsgate's location-based entertainment team that launched The Hunger Games: Exhibition nationwide tour;[3] The Hunger Games in StageAround live theatrical experience debuting in England in 2016; and Lionsgate Land, a central hub for motiongate Dubai, developed by Dubai Parks and Resorts, which will feature several of Lionsgate’s intellectual properties.[4]
- I propose adding the following to the “Monographs” section:
Title | Year | Genre | Publisher | Length | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Tim Palen: Photographs From The Hunger Games | 2015 | Fine art photography | Assouline | 260pp | |
Photographed by Palen, the book includes portraits of The Hunger Games cast. [5] |

I requested help on the below edits a couple weeks ago and my request was re-routed to CAT:EDITREQ, where requests often sit for up to 6 months before being abandoned. I know "there is no deadline." However, is there any way an editor could take a look and help me out? NinaSpezz (talk) 14:12, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
- I'll take a look, and will not close the edit request, but no guarantees. I'll post again if I change anything. As a side note, "below" now refers to "above", since the {{help me}} was originally placed in the middle of the edit request. Primefac (talk) 19:48, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Primefac: I really appreciate your help and the changes you implemented thus far. The first of the updated Lionsgare titles should be: "Chief Brand Officer," not "Chief Marketing Officer" per the references provided. Would you mind switching out "Marketing" for "Brand" in that second sentence? Many thanks. NinaSpezz (talk) 20:08, 20 October 2015 (UTC)

Resolving NPOV issues
[edit]Praxidicae: Would you be willing to discuss with me your reversion edit at Tim Palen? I understand the page has a history of NPOV issues, and I admit I was a little rusty when I first started trying to correct these problems, but -- after some deserved correction by another editor -- I once more reviewed all the Wikipedia policy and guidance I could find on BLPs and NPOV issues, and I genuinely thought I was on track to improving the content of this article. I believe it has the potential to be elevated to a B-class article, and all my edits were in good faith, so the wholesale reversion of all my contributions confused and disheartened me. Moreover, the version now occupying the name space retains the NPOV issues that originally resulted in the placement of the POV template, as well as all the citations of dead links and other sourcing issues I had already corrected. I have so much respect for your considerable experience as a Wikipedia editor, so I hope you can help me navigate this matter. Thank you so much.Malcom Gregory Scott (talk) 09:43, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
- The user page for the editor who reverted my extensive revisions (intended to address NPOV issues, remove dead links in citations, and update facts) indicates that this user is now "retired", so discussion with them about how to revise the article is not an option. I'm now going to restore some of my original edits and resume editing for neutrality, sourcing, and current facts. I welcome the advice of other editors as I proceed, especially those concerned about this page being promotional. Malcom Gregory Scott (talk) 23:12, 5 January 2021 (UTC)
- After comprehensive revisions to remove promotional language and puffery, supplement poor sourcing, and correct factual errors, I've made the "bold edit" and removed the NPOV template. If I have failed to address any of the issues that led to the original placement of the template, I hope other editors will discuss, edit, and advise as appropriate. Thanks. Malcom Gregory Scott (talk) 22:12, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
- Apologies for the long delay in replying (to anything), this was on my list but pretty far down as far as priorities goes. I've removed about half of the article because it was either extremely promotional, irrelevant, excessive detail, or unnecessary trivia. His job is to promote films, so listing every film he promoted is rather pointless, which is why I stuck with the "big", controversial, or otherwise unusual choices he made (still trimming those down a bit anyway).
- I also restructured it more by subject than timeline to help the flow. Primefac (talk) 21:51, 2 February 2021 (UTC)
