There is currently (21 June 2024) a lengthy quote about Ruffo having learned everything from his brother Ettore, apparently from Musical America. So I hunted it down on archive.org (the work of under two minutes) and, heavens to Betsy! Nothing of the sort appears in the article: it's pure invention, or more frankly put, a load of old bollocks. I also found his autobiography on archive.org (also now properly reffed) which contains exactly zilch resembling this piece of extended nonsense: in fact it tells a quite different story, which you may read for yourself. I shall be deleting the offending passage in very short order unless someone can find a proper source, which I doubt. MinorProphet (talk) 21:50, 21 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
