Break even??

"it was hoped that TFTR would finally achieve fusion energy break-even" - any data on the efficiency that was eventually achieved? Thanks, --Jpkoester1 June 28, 2005 16:57 (UTC)

Same question: the "Later Experiments" section gives the power produced as 10.7 MW. But, what was the power input to the plasma? Wcmead3 (talk) 20:31, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Why didnt they reach break-even

Says "They hoped to achieve deuterium-tritium break-even in 1989" - what went wrong ? What happened between 1987 and 1993 ? - Rod57 (talk) 15:43, 7 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Decommissioning

It shut down in 1997 but what has happened since? Since this was the first fusion device to reach 10MW (thermal) in power output, and used D+T to do it, it would be very interesting to know how much nuclear waste this produced, and what was done with it.
